Wind farm put into operation in Ninghai

On the wind farm located in the ridges of the Tea Mountain in Ninghai County, a long row of giant "windmills" are slowly turning with the wind. Recently, the wind farm, the biggest mountain wind power project in Zhejiang Province, has started trial operation and on-grid power generation.
With a total investment of 500 million yuan, the wind farm is located in the Tea mountain forest area of Liyang Town in Ninghai County. It is estimated that the annual electricity production will exceed 100 million kilowatts and it will bring 60 million yuan-worth economic profits when all the wind turbines are combined to the grid. After years of preparation, construction of the wind farm began in April 2012.

All the 33 wind turbines on the wind farm are located on a ridge of 600 to 880 meters high. So far, 23 wind turbines have been installed. Each turbine is huge with a single blade length of 37.5 meters and maximum height of 102.5 meters. When the mountain wind speed reaches 3 m/s, the wind turbine will start generating, with the maximum power of 1.5 mw. When the wind speed exceeds 25 m/s, the blade angle will be automatically adjusted and no longer subject to the wind.

Hangzhou-Ningbo high-speed rail to put into operation

It is learned from departments concerned that the adjustment of the Hangzhou-Ningbo high-speed rail is to complete and it will enter the stage of trial operation in late May. Meanwhile, to alleviate its impact on the lives of residents along the railway, the sound barriers will be installed on both sides of the section from Zhuangqiao Station to Ningbo East Railway Station. 
The train routes of the high-speed rail have not been finalized so far, but it is for sure that both the G-type and D-type trains will be running on the rail, with the speed of 300km per hour for G-type trains and 200km per hour for D-type ones. Besides, the direct non-stop train from Ningbo to Hangzhou will be opened. At the same time, some trains will only stop at some major stations along the rail.
The last stop of the Hangzhou-Ningbo high-speed rail is Zhuangqiao Station, the original route will be adopted from which to Ningbo East Railway Station. The current trains (including both for freight and passengers) run at a maximum speed of 120km per hour. When the high-speed rail is put into operation, the trains will still run at 120km per hour in this section. In addition, to minimize the impact of the high-speed trains on the residents along the rail, sound barrier equipments will be installed on both sides of the existing lines between Zhuangqiao Station and Ningbo East Railway Station.

150,000-ton port waterway project granted

It is learned on May 6 from Ningbo Port and Shipping Administration Bureau that a 150,000-ton port waterway project in Meishan Port area has passed the pre-feasibility study report review, and is expected to start construction in early 2014. By then, the Meishan port waterway will have the capacity for passage of 150,000-ton container ships or even the world's largest 18000TEU ships currently under construction.

According to reports, the No.1 and No.2 berths of the first phase of the container ship terminal project in the Meishan Bonded Port area have been completed and put into use, while the other three berths are expected to be put into use within this year, and the berths will have the capacity of 150,000-ton container ships. The No.6 to No.10 berths are also planned to have the same capacity and are now in the preparation stages.

At present, as the minimum water depth of the natural waterway of entering and leaving Meishan Bonded Port area is only 15.6 meters, which allows for only 100,000-ton container ships. "The 150,000-ton port waterway project is mainly based on the existing natural channel. For water areas with insufficient depths, we plan to do some digging, reef explosion and setting up new beacons." said an official from the bureau. The waterway project, aiming at the capacity for the two-way high-tide bidirectional navigation of 150,000-ton fully loaded container ships, as well as for the passage of 200,000-ton fully loaded container ships, will cost about 30 million yuan.

"Ningbo Week" to be held in Nanjing

According to Ningbo Municipal Economic Cooperation Office, the 2013 "Ningbo Week" activity will be held in Nanjing in late May. A series of activities including investment promotion, industrial docking and talent recruitment will be organized to further publicize Ningbo to attract businessmen of Zhejiang or Ningbo origin to return for investments.
Since the beginning of this year, in order to promote economic transformation and upgrading, Ningbo has increased contact with the outside businessmen of Zhejiang and Ningbo origin through a variety of ways. The city gives full play to their advantages in the capital, social relations and networks by providing platforms and improving services, and thus has gained great achievements in attracting investments from returned entrepreneurs. Statistics show that in the first quarter, Ningbo has newly introduced 34 returned projects with the actual funds of 2.896 billion yuan. The fund in place reaches 7.16 billion yuan (including 4.264 billion yuan from the 88 carry-over projects last year), up by 27.8% over the same period last year.
