Construction of T2 terminal of Ningbo Lishe Airport to start in late 2014

The tarmac was enlarged, the level of the aircraft movement area was raised, and now, the international airport is being upgraded. Since 1984, Ningbo’s airport has been 30 years old. Information from the 30th anniversary says that, the construction of a T2 terminal is expected to start and it will be put into use in 2017. By that time, a high-end and fabulous terminal will appear in Ningbo airport.

Tour exhibition of Chinese modern scientists starts

The first large exhibition features the theme of scientists opened in Ningbo yesterday. The exhibition involves around 700 Chinese modern scientists including several ones whose birthplace is Ningbo, with about 1000 historical pictures. More than 2000 people visited the exhibition and over 30 thousand are expected to visit it. 
The tour exhibition with the theme "Science Dream, Chinese Dream" in Ningbo will last for about half a month from November 11 to 25. The exhibition is made up of 5 sections, representing the introduction of modern science to China, the history of science and education in the turbulent times, the birth of new science in New China, the Spring of science and science in the new century.
During the show time, visitors will be invited to write reviews on the exhibition

Ningbo E-businesses no longer supporting roles in Double 11

The annual online shopping carnival will soon begin at 0 o'clock of November 11. Ningbo, used to take a ride in the past, will present with a brand-new image. With a year's development of E-business in Ningbo, Ningbo is more confident in participating in this year's Double 11 festival. 
These days, Jiangdong E-business park is very busy. During the half year since its establishment, it has gathered 58 E-businesses which are now ready for the shopping festival. 
Local E-commerce platforms also join in the shopping festival. Ningbo Tongchenggou now has more than 1000 stores and its orders have exceeded 2000; more than 60 types of products like seafood, leisure snacks, fruits and special tourism will be sold in Special China.Ningbo in Taobao. 
Cixi will use platforms like Dangdang, JD and Suning to sell its household appliances,which are expected to a set record sales in a single day. Yuyao motor-driven tools and Ningbo stationery E-businesses will also have a share in their fields. 
Cross-border shopping will be a dark horse
Alibaba and Ningbo Municipal Government has signed an strategic cooperation agreement on November 7. During double 11, Ningbo will take advantage of pilot city of cross-border E-commerce to have promotions of cross-border shopping. 
As one of the first cross-border e-commerce pilot cities, there are 70 e-businesses in the city. 15 of them will join the Double 11 activity. 8 of them will take part in the promotion launched by Tmall International and Ningbo Cross-border Trade E-commerce import base. The trade orders are expected to reach 0.7 million, worth 160 million yuan. 

Flight from Ningbo to Guilin renewed

Since November 10, Shandong Airlines will resume its Qingdao-Ningbo-Guilin flight, which has been stopped during the flight season change in October,2014. The number of the flight will still be SC4739/4740, flying every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. It was once stopped on October 26th. The renewal decision was made after the coordination between Ningbo Airport and Shandong Airlines. 
It is reported that the flight is a tourism flight, with few business travelers. And winter and spring are also the tourist off-seasons, with only 20 to 30% attendance. 
Since the start in 2007, the flight has been stopped and restarted. "The insufficient passengers is a major reason for the stop of the flight" said a staff from the airlines. Shandong airlines said the renewed flight will only continue to the end of December. Whether it will continue next year is still to be decided.
 

63 public benefit venture projects signed in Yinzhou

The signing ceremony for 2014 Public Benefit Venture Projects (Shortlisted) of Yinzhou, Ningbo was held at the Yinzhou Civil Affairs Office a couple of days ago. Project leaders of 63 shortlisted projects including “Care for the Aged: QR Code Bracelet against Getting Lost” signed agreements with the Yinzhou Social Organization Service Center. Each of the shortlisted projects shall get a financial support of 10,000-40,000 yuan, with the total amount reaching 1.73 million yuan.  Since this activity was initiated in July, the candidate projects have undergone collection, selection and panel evaluation. While stressing on the grass-root features of the projects, the Yinzhou Civil Affairs Office gave particular emphasis on the originality and potentiality of the projects in judging the candidate projects.
