The Florence (China) International Design Biennale to be held in Ningbo

On the morning of June 29, it was learned from the relevant press conference that the Florence (China) International Design Biennale will be held at Ningbo Art Museum from July 3rd to 14th.

It is learned that the Italian International Biennial of Contemporary Art is one of the most prestigious art exhibitions in the world, and has been held for eleven sessions. In 2019, the 500th anniversary of the death of Da Vinci, in honor of this great artist known as the "Perfect Representative of the Renaissance", the parallel exhibition of the Florence International Contemporary Art Biennale and Florence International Design Biennale will be held together. The two biennales are operated in parallel by the organizing committee of the Florence Biennale. Exclusively authorized by the Organizing Committee of the Florence Biennale, Ningbo is responsible for the exhibits collection in China including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan and will host the Florence International Design Biennale Exhibition - Florence (China) International Design Biennale.

Concert Held to Celebrate Ningbo-Varna Friendly Tie Anniversary

 A concert was held at a theater in Ningbo yesterday to celebrate the 15th anniversary of friendly ties between the city and Verna, a city in Bulgaria. This year also marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Bulgaria. 

  Located on the west coast of the Black Sea, Verna is the third largest city in Bulgaria with the country’s largest port. It is also known as a city of booming tourism and rich culture across the globe. Thanks to the in-depth development of the Belt and Road Initiative and China-CEEC cooperation, the two cities have delivered fruitful results in a wide range of areas, including economic, trade, cultural, educational and shipping cooperation as well as people-to-people ties. 

  Yesterday night, two skillful and experienced singers from Verna co-performed with Ningbo Symphony Orchestra at the theater, presenting world-famous songs and songs with distinctive Bulgarian features

Ningbo holds a public volunteer activity to celebrate the 29th National Land Day

June 25th marks China’s 29th National Land Day, and the theme for this year is “Strictly protect the cultivated area, and reduce intensive land use”. On June 23rd, Ningbo Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning organizes a public volunteer activity featuring “Me and Cultivated Area” to celebrate the upcoming National Land Day.

In Ningbo City Exhibition Hall, special activities are prepared for children, such as the vow-making ceremony for the first 29 little cultivated area guards in Ningbo, cultivated area protection exhibition, related children’s painting exhibition, surveying instrument for cultivated area show, and related question-answering games. Also, Ningbo’s citizens come to the hall to offer their advice on cultivated area protection and join the team for cultivated area protection.

Documentary about Intangible Cultural Heritage Debuts

  “Beilun Impression”, a documentary about intangible cultural heritage in Beilun District in the form of a series of short videos made its debut yesterday. The documentary presents a panoramic view of the ancient heritage with grand narrative scenes. 

  Beilun is home to 50 intangible heritage projects above district level. Since 2018, cultural offices in the district have made field trips to shoot the documentary. The first season consists of 10 15-minute long episodes. Each one introduces an intangible cultural heritage to give illustration to the inheritance, history, preservation and current conditions of this heritage. At the same time, the offices took 3 years to single out suitable subject matters, including endangered heritage preservation and relevant problems, to give the documentary record. 

  Four of the ten episodes greeted the audience at the premiere, presenting the trials made by the local people to overcome great difficulty to carry forward the endangered cultural heritage. Against a broad

15 newlyweds had a group wedding on Metro Line 3

The first phase of Metro Line 3 is to be put into trial operation soon. On June 22nd, Ningbo Rail Transit organized a special group wedding for the outstanding young workers and employees of the participating units, and congratulated on the opening of the new line.  

At 8 o'clock on the morning of June 22, dressed in traditional Han costume, the 15 newly-wed couples took the rail transit at the Sakura Park Station on Line 3. Driving south, the train arrived at the Yinzhou District Government Station after more than 10 minutes. The couples then came to the main wedding venue in the Ningbo Museum, and the wedding prelude was opened with the graceful classical dance
