Passenger flow of Line 3 reaches 615,000 on the first day

On the first day of the opening of Metro Line 3, the total passenger flow reached 615,000. Compared with the average daily passenger flow of the subway line in May 2019, the number of passengers increased by more than 60%. 

According to Ningbo Rail Transit Group, the busiest three stations of each metro line are respectively: Dongmenkou Station, Gulou Station, Fuming Road Station of Line 1; Ningbo Railway Station, Chenghuangmiao Station, Gulou Station of Line 2;  Siming Middle Road Station, Qianhu North Road Station, Southern Business District Station of Line 3.

With Line 3, different urban areas and landmarks in the city like Datong Bridge, Minglou, Sakura Park, Children's Park, Yinzhou District Government, Southern Business District are drawn closer.  On the first day of the opening on June 30, passengers flocked to the new line to experience it.

Ningbo’s inbound and outbound tourists reached 826,000 in the first half of 2019

According to statistics from Ningbo Customs, the inbound and outbound flights of Ningbo airport in the first half of 2019 was 5,085, and the number of inbound and outbound passengers was 826,600, a year-on-year increase of 16.52% and 19.59% respectively, a record high.

The data shows that in terms of the most popular destinations of Ningbo people, Hongkong ranked first with appropriate flight tine, rich tourism and shopping resources, and convenient transit hub experience. Taiwan and Thailand ranked second and third, followed by Macao, Japan, and Vietnam.

Tourists to Japan and Korea accounted for 15% of the total.  On April 25, 2019, Ningbo opened its first direct flight to Tokyo. As a result, the number of tourists to Japan increased by 25.74%, compared with the same period in 2018.  Tour to South Korea has become popular, and the number of tourists to South Korea has increased, up 121.43% year-on-year.

2019 World Digital Economy Conference arrives in Ningbo

Ningbo will embrace the digital wave with a more open attitude. On June 28, it was learned from the 61st executive meeting of the municipal government that 2019 World Digital Economy Conference has officially settled in Ningbo and will be held from September 6th to 8th. Simultaneously, Ningbo will also hold the 9th China Smart City and Smart Economy Expo.

It is reported that the Smart Expo was founded in 2011 and has been successfully held in Ningbo for 8 sessions. It has become an important platform for the display, exchange and cooperation of smart cities and smart economy in China, influential and popular in the country.

2019 World Digital Economy Conference and the 9th China Smart City and Smart Economy Expo focus on 5G, artificial intelligence, industrial Internet, big data, blockchain and other cutting-edge technologies, with the theme of "Digital Drive, Intelligent Development". Line 3 starts trial operation

At 10:00 on the morning of June 30, the first phase of Ningbo Rail Transit Line 3 begun its trial operation. It indicates that Ningbo Rail Transit has entered the era of multi-line operation.

Painting witnesses the cultural exchanges between Ningbo and Bulgaria

On the morning of June 29th, “Paper Love – The Invitation Exhibition of Famous Paper Painting” is held at Ningbo Art Museum. A magnificent 15-meter long painting created by the famous painter Xu Zhong’ou is very conspicuous. It is one of the results of cultural exchanges between Ningbo and Bulgaria.

Xu Zhong’ou is a professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and a famous printmaker. He is currently the vice president of the Chinese Print Academy of China Academy of Art and the dean of the Pan Tianshou School of Art and Design at Ningbo University. At the exhibition site, Xu held a petal fan and stood beside the long scroll to introduce his work to the audience. This painting depicts the ruins of the famous ancient city of Veliko Tarnovo in Bulgaria. According to Xu, in order to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bulgaria, from April 30 to May 9, he and five other Chinese artists were invited to Bulgaria to have art exchanges with seven Bulgarian artists.
