Invisible bridge between Chinese and CEE youth

“I will share my personal experiences in China with my friends to help them know this country and fall in love with it.” said Peter Victor Rochodak, an online blogger from Poland.

“I have witnessed the creativity and promising future of made-in-China products. If possible, I wish to find automobiles made in China available in my country,” said Nelmin, a young man from Montenegro.

Recently, many young representatives from Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC) come to Ningbo to attend the 3rd "Bridge of the Future" China-CEEC Youth Exchange Camp. From their smile and comment, it can be felt that a friendship bridge that transcends national boundaries is erecting, connecting the young generation from China and CEEC.

In the camp, it is very common to find youth from China and CEE countries with similar interests to connect China and CEE countries via the invisible bridge of friendship.

Natural Science Exhibition Unfolded at Ningbo Museum

A natural science exhibition “Evolution: From Fish to Human Beings” was unveiled at Ningbo Museum yesterday. Lasting for around two months and co-hosted by the museum and Chinese Academy of Sciences, the exhibition features 146 fossils and models during 500 million years of evolutionary history of vertebrates.

According to Xu Qin, the exhibition designer, the exhibition composed of five sections gives retrospect to the evolution of various species on the planet.

Visitors can feast their eyes on a wide range of fossils, models and sculptures, including those of maritime and territorial vertebrates, such as fish, dinosaurs, rhinos and bears. Driven by technology, some of the models can even move or make sounds, catching the eyeballs of visitors.

Besides the exhibition, the museum will offer courses and two lectures in natural sciences to the public from July to August

Ningbo garden won the “Outstanding Exhibition Garden Award” of Nanning Garden Expo

The 12th China (Nanning) International Garden and Flower Expo closed recently. Ningbo Garden won the “Outstanding Exhibition Garden Award” for the outdoor exhibition competition. It also won special competition awards such as “Excellent Design Exhibition Garden”,“Quality Construction Exhibition Garden”, “Best Plant Configuration Exhibition Garden” and “Excellent Architectural Pieces Exhibition Garden”.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Municipal Urban Management Bureau, the International Garden and Flower Expo is the highest and largest garden and flower exhibition in China, held every two years.  As a national garden city, Ningbo has been invited to participate in the 8 Garden Expos held in Shenzhen, Xiamen, Jinan, Chongqing, Beijing, Wuhan, Zhengzhou and Nanning. In each session, Ningbo Garden has a clear theme and a good landscape effect, winning a high honor. The 12th Garden Expo was co-sponsored by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the Nanning Municipal People's Government. It opened in Nanning in December 2018 and attracted many domestic and foreign cities, institutions, enterprises and individuals.

4 New Self-Service Book-Borrowing Machines Installed in Ningbo

As the first phase of Ningbo subway Line 3 opened to traffic, the online service of Ningbo Library extended further along the rail. Starting from July 5, another 4 self-service book-borrowing machine will installed in subway stations of line 3, apart from the existing 3 machines in two Ningbo Libraries and Drum Tower subway station.

Provided by Ningbo Library, each one of such self-service book-borrowing machines is just like a mini library which makes borrowing a book as convenient as ordering food online. People can either borrow books from one of these machines with their phone or with a QR code through a third-party credit platform. Neither deposit nor membership card is required.

In 2018, Ningbo’s first self-service book-borrowing machine was installed in Drum Tower station in December, which is a transfer station for line 1 and line 2. In the following month, a total of 2500 books had been borrowed from this machine, the most among some 260 self-service book-borrowing machines across China. Intelligent water control

At the site of the city's intelligent water control work meeting on July 2nd, a "little yellow boat" about one meter long is very eye-catching and became the favorite of many media reports.  The “little yellow boat" is called the intelligent unmanned monitoring boat, and has recently been   monitoring water in several river courses.  The boat is equipped with a multi-parameter monitor, which can automatically monitor water temperature, pH value, dissolved oxygen, etc. It is a good complement for the insufficient current manned river inspection on foot.
