By combining competition with entertainment and leisure, the activity involves such competitive events as the station game of the national rock climbing competition, kayaking, 20-kilometer mountain bike cross country racing, cross country skills racing and 25-kilometer cross country race in different items, and such fun events as fun mud racing, fun carnival running, upper-air Liusuo experience and fun kayak performance. Ninghai Country boasts rich outdoor sports resources such as Siming Mountain and Tiantai Mountain, and a long history of tourism and outdoor culture. In 2009, the first national mountaineering fitness footpath was built in Ninghai County. In the following two years, as such big events as Asian Mountain Area Outdoor Challenge and National Camping Convention were held in the county, it gradually became the outdoor sports base in the Yangtze River Delta area or even in the whole East China area. The first mountain area outdoor sports competition will consolidate the county's position in the outdoor sports circle in China, and it is hoped that through the competition, more events and activity patterns suitable to the domestic situations can be figured out.

The competition is sponsored by the Mountaineering Sport Administration Center of China National Sports Bureau and Zhejiang Sports Bureau and hosted by Ninghai County Government and Ningbo Sports Bureau. It is reported that the preparatory work is now under way and the staff recruitment has started in www.mytentlife.com. Urban management volunteers beautifying the city

On the afternoon of April 8, over 10,000 urban management volunteers carried out the beautifying activities of tidying the fences and cleaning up the green belt garbage in cross-river bridges, green fields in riverside parks and major streets and parks in all the towns and districts. It is learned from Ningbo Urban Management Bureau that in the near future the related departments will launch the urban streets cleaning campaign to make a cleaner Ningbo.

"There are over 6,800 sanitation workers doing cleaning jobs every day in the city. Anyway, it is far from enough to keep the whole city in constant tidiness. Joint efforts made by the public is indispensible in the city-beautifying campaign." said Luo Wei, Director of Ningbo Urban Management Volunteers Association. He hope that the action of the volunteers can have a subtle influence on more citizens.

According to the urban management departments, besides the above-mentioned beautifying activity, a special fund of 70 million yuan will be set up to be used in the year-long street-cleaning campaign. It is hope that through this campaign, the sweeping rate by machine will increase from 45% to 75%, thus reducing greatly the labor intensity of the sanitation workers. The garbage on road will be cleaned up within 15 minutes. The property management departments, sanitation workers and residents will work together to take responsibility for the cleaning job of all the areas.

PM2.5 in Ningbo meets national standard

The daily average of PM2.5 concentration in Ningbo was 56 micrograms per cubic meter, a slight increase over 48 micrograms per cubic meter on the previous day, according to data posted on the official website of the Ningbo Environmental Protection Bureau(NEPB) on Sunday.

PM2.5 refers to particulate matter less than 2.5 micrometers in size or about 1/30th the average width of a human hair. An expert from environmental monitoring station predicts that PM2.5 concentration may continue to rise in the coming days due to the fine weather during the Qingming festival.

According to a graph posted on the NEPB website, the daily average PM2.5 concentration remains changeable over the past week. The figure reached 72 micrograms per cubic meter last Monday, close to the upper limit of grade II air quality (75 micrograms / cubic meter). Later on, it reached another "small peak" to 61 micrograms per cubic meter, and fell to 36 micrograms / cubic meter, the lowest record during the past week. The data shows that PM2.5 in Ningbo didn't exceed the upper limit of 70 micrograms per cubic meter as regulated by the newly-enforced national air quality standard.

An expert from environmental monitoring station said: "In addition to the coal-burning, dust and vehicle exhaust emissions, weather condition can also influence PM2.5 concentration as well." The sunny and windy weather last week carried dust, resulting high PM 2.5 record on March 26.
