The National Youth Informatics Olympiad in Yuyao Ended Ningbo Students Won 3 Gold

On the afternoon of July 29th, the 38th National Youth Informatics Olympiad ended in Yuyao. 50 players won gold medals, entered the National Informatics Olympiad National Training Team, and obtained the qualifications to be admitted to colleges without the college entrance examination recognized by the Ministry of Education. Three contestants in our city won gold medals. They are Chen Kuowen of Yuyao Middle School, Pan Jiaqi of Zhenhai Middle School and Xuan Yiming of Zhenhai Jiaochuan Academy.

With the theme of "Communication with Infinite Possibilities, Wisdom Leading a Wonderful Future", this competition was hosted by the China Computer Society and was held for the first time in a county-level city. 453 contestants from all over the country participated in the competition.

The 12th gold medal! Ningbo boy Shi Zhiyong won the championship and broke the world record

On the evening of July 28, in the men's 73 kg weightlifting in Tokyo Olympic Games, Ningbo athlete Shi Zhiyong won the championship with 166 kg snatch and 198 kg clean and jerk, with a total score of 364 kg and broke the world record for total results.

Shi Zhiyong is a Ningbo athlete. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Shi Zhiyong participated in the Olympics for the first time and won the men's 69 kg weightlifting championship. He won the first Olympic gold medal for Ningbo in history. In recent years, Shi Zhiyong has made persistent efforts to challenge himself, breaking his own world record seven times in four years.

The men's 73 kg weightlifting for the Tokyo Olympics started at about 6:50 pm. A total of 9 athletes from the United States, Japan and other places participated in the competition. The first round is the snatch competition. Shi Zhiyong chose 158 kg for his first attempt, and his weight was much higher than other players. Shi Zhiyong lifted it easily. Yang Qian becomes the first Chinese shooter to win two consecutive gold medals in one Olympic Games

Yang Qian gets her second gold medal

On the afternoon of July 27th, the first air rifle mixed team competition in the history of the Olympic Games was held at the Asaka Shooting Range in Tokyo, Japan. Ningbo shooter Yang Qian and her teammate Yang Haoran defeated an American pair 17:13 score and shot down this precious gold medal. This is the first time in the history of the Olympic Games that a Chinese athlete won two shooting gold medals in one Olympic Games.

Lin Bangde’s Calligraphy ExhibitionⅡunveiled

To celebrate the 1200th anniversary of the founding of Ningbo city, Lin Bangde’s Calligraphy Exhibition II was opened in the Art Space on the second floor of the New Building of Ningbo Library. More than 300 calligraphy enthusiasts from government agencies, enterprises and all walks of life attended the opening ceremony.

Lin Bangde, born in October 1957 in Ninghai, Zhejiang, is currently a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, a member of the National Primary and Secondary School Teachers and Students’ Calligraphy Examination Evaluation Committee, vice president of Zhejiang Overseas Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Institute, vice president of Ningbo Painting and Calligraphy Institute, Director of the Calligraphy Promotion Committee of Ningbo Chinese Culture Promotion Association.

Ningbo girl Yu Yiting advances to the 200m medley semifinals

On July 26, in the Tokyo Olympics’ women's 200m individual medley preliminaries, Yu Yiting finished 2:10.22, ranking eighth in total, qualified for the semifinals. The world record for this event is 2:06.12, and the Olympic record is 2:06.58.

Yu Yiting, who is under 16 years old, entered the Chinese swimming team in October 2020. In more than half a year, she broke the women's 200m individual medley world youth record twice: in the 2021 National Swimming Championships and Tokyo Olympic trials, she scored 2:09.88, rewriting the world youth record of 2:09.98 set by Japanese star Rikako Ikee in 2017. In the final, she raised the world youth record to 2:09. 64 seconds
