An exhibition of the treasures of Haishu District, Beilun District and Fenghua City opened in the art gallery of Tianyi Pavilion Museum the other day. The exhibition has 160 treasures ranging from the Warring States to the modern times. They are in two categories, 115 porcelain works and 45 painting and calligraphic works.
In the first three quarters this year, Ningbo invested 4.711 billion yuan in water transport infrastructural facilities. In August 2002, the core product of Ningbo Lubao Science and Technology Company adopted in the year in Hang-Ningbo Expressway. This product, result of the painstaking work of several years of the company, won the gold prize of a patent of China, the first one of its kind that Ningbo got.
In the past 10 years, this hi-tech company has been on the rise in its technological innovation. A related person of the company said that this year the company has obtained 2 patents, including 1 invention patent. So far, the patents the company has obtained has exceeded 50, including 22 patents for invention, 3 patents of the USA, and 2 of Japan and Europe.
This private enterprise may be a mirror of Ningbo for its industrial economic development. As the core of technologic innovation, intellectual properties are given more and more attention by enterprises of Ningbo. According an authority of Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, currently, 90% of expenditures on R&D is from enterprises. Over 80% of the national science projects are undertaken by enterprises. Over 60% patents are applied for and obtained by enterprises. Above 80% of the introduced talents are in enteprises. Of the state and provincial science and technology prizes, 80% are won by enterprises. Over two thirds of the listed companies are hi-tech enterprises.

According to statistics from Ningbo Customs, in the first three quarters this year, the exports by private enterprises of Ningbo value 25.7 billion US dollars, increased by 4.9% year on year, covering 55.5% of the total of exports of Ningbo, 2 points higher year on year. The exports to go 167 countries.
The statistics show that European Union is the biggest trade partner of Ningbo private enterprise. Owing to impact by the European debt crisis, in the first 9 months, the import and export trade to the EU values only 7.11 billion US dollars, reduced by 4.5% year on year. However, the export of Ningbo private enterprises to USA and ASEAN countries is on the rise, reaching 4.63 billion and 1.66 billion US dollars, increased by 17% and 23% respectively.
