Residential housing deals reaching a record high within 5 months

In January of 2013, the turnover of the new residential housing and second-hand residential housing has reached a new high over the past five months. According to the latest "urban residential housing dealing information" released by Ningbo Municipal Housing Trade Center, in January, the amount of commodity housing sales in the urban areas of Ningbo increased by 475% over the same period last year, while the amount of the second-hand residential housing sales increased by 579%.

In January last year, the commodity housing sales confronted the "deep winter", with almost no purchasers turning up in the housing sales offices. By contrast, this year, some purchasers waited to sign the contracts even after 9 pm. In January last year, some small real estate agencies closed up because of the gloomy market, while at the same time this year, in the main Hall of Ningbo Municipal Housing Trade Center, many purchasers were queuing to get the transfer procedure done.

Statistics from the Housing Trade Center show that in January this year, the deal of 2209 commodity houses was completed, up by 45 houses over December of 2012, reaching a new high since last September. Compared with the 384 houses transacted in January last year, the growth rate reached a high 475%.

The longest tunnel in Ningbo opened on February 7th

The 3250-meter-long Jinhai Tunnel, located in Chunhu Town, Fenghua, is the longest tunnel in Ningbo. It was started in March, 2011 and opened to traffic on February 7th this year. Thanks to this tunnel, the driving distance between downtown Fenghua and Qiucun, Song'ao was shortened by 20km, reducing the driving time by nearly half an hour. 

All freeway entries closed on February 8

From 00.00 of February 9, the free access of freeways by private cars during the Spring Festival period will be implemented. However, the heavy snow of February 8 brought new problems. Since 6 pm of February 8, all the freeway entries in Ningbo have been closed, along with the southern linking path of Hangzhou Bay Bridge, Zhoushan Bridge and Xiangshan Port Bridge.

In terms of high ways, a lot of mountain roads have become unavailable because of the snow, including the Fenghua section and part of Yuyao section of the Xuxi Provincial Road, Shengning Provincial Road, the Ninghai section of the Chengsong County Road, the Ninghai section of the Feida County Road, Meicha County Road and Shangjie County Road.

"The Hangzhou Bay Bridge and other sections of the freeways have been gradually closed since the evening of February 7. Today, the freeways in Ningbo are accessible, with some sections directed by traffic police and the Road Administration Bureau, and some sections closed to coaches." According to one official from Ningbo Road Administration Bureau, the opening time of the freeways depends on the weather condition, and people may choose others ways for travel if necessary.

It is expected that with the opening of the entries, the flow of vehicles will be at a high level. The related departments warn people to travel in order, to control the driving speed and keep the safe spaces between vehicles. The most important is that people should follow the directions of the road administration departments and the traffic police.

During the free-access period, no cards will be necessary at the toll gates. All the vehicles should slow down when going across the toll gates with a speed of about 20 kilometers per hour.

According to the municipal public security conference held on 31st January, 2012, Public Security Bureau in Ningbo has undertaken special activities like crime crackdown, gun and violence control, etc. The rates of cracking down criminal cases, criminal capture have increased 10.3 percent and 48.3 percent respectively, and the criminal cases have decreased by 0.9 percent, the robbery and theft cases by 11.3 percent and 13.7 percent respectively compared to the year before. On the blue book of people’s sense of security in 38 cities which Chinese Academy of Social Science has issued, Ningbo ranked No.4.
