China Food Expo to be held in Ningbo

The 2013 China Food Expo is scheduled to be held in Ningbo International Convention and Exhibition Centre from November 15 to 18, said the organizing committee of the Expo last Friday. Compared with the previous years, the number of overseas exhibitors will take up more than 50 percent of the total exhibitors.

The event is co-organized by the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, the China Chamber of Commerce, and China Light Industry Council (CNLIC). Covering an area of 76,000 square meters and consisting of 3,800 international standard booths, the Expo has nine pavilions including seven current ones and two permanent ones.

Exhibitors from over 30 countries or regions will participate in the event. Top wine producers from France, Italy, Australia, the United States and Argentina will be present at the Expo. During the event, No. 1 Pavilion will feature name brands products and No. 2 Pavilion will feature imported food, including wine, dairy products, and etc.. No. 8 Pavilion will display 80 percent of Taiwan food products. Besides, the two perennial pavilions will also exhibit more than 50 percent of imported food.

Ningbo Mould Industrial Park to be built

The launching ceremony of Ningbo Mould Industrial Park, the first "green" industrial complex in Ningbo, was held in the Sanmen Bay New Zone on October 21.

The park is jointed funded by Ningbo Industrial Investment Group and Ninghai County Government. With a total planned area of 1500 mu and an investment of 3.2 billion yuan, the park is scheduled to be completed at the beginning of 2015.

As a municipal key project to promote the transformation and upgrading of Ningbo's industrial economy, the park will focus on the construction of such public service platforms as the mould R & D and design, mould processing and testing, mould demonstration and trading, and technology training center. It is expected to introduce some international high-end mould enterprises and dozens of leading domestic mould enterprises in 10 years, with the annual turnover exceeding 10 billion yuan.

The industrial park is to be built as a first-class green manufacturing industrial complex and a high-quality mould producing and developing base. The first phase of the park will include the five function areas of high-end mould producing and developing area, mould enterprises incubator area, trading and exhibiting center, life & service center and public service center. With the philosophy of the balance of production, life and ecology, the park will integrate greenness, humanity and harmony.

According to some experts, the construction of Ningbo Mould Industrial Park will greatly promote the upgrading of the small and medium-sized mould enterprises in Ningbo, and facilitate the transformation of mould industry from industrialized production to modernized production.

Two projects listed among outstanding provincial sports, leisure and tourism projects

In the competition of “2013 outstanding sports, leisure and tourism demonstration bases, projects and routes in Zhejiang Province”, jointly organized by Zhejiang Provincial Sports Bureau and Zhejiang Provincial Tourism Bureau, two projects from Ningbo are final winners. Both the “9th Cave Trip” by Ningbo Danshanchishui Tourism Development Co. Ltd. and the Ningbo (Yinzhou) Tennis Centre by Ningbo Huifeng Sports Development Co. Ltd. are selected as “2013 outstanding sports, leisure and tourism projects in Zhejiang Province”.

Largest creative designs gathering zone in Ningbo

After two years' development, Hefeng Creative Square has become a gathering area for industrial designs and creative industries with the largest scale, optimal equipments and facilities, the most complete coverage of industries and the most service platforms in China.

So far, over 140 enterprises from such countries and regions as the UK, the US, Italy, Holland, Hong Kong and Taiwan have been introduced to the square with about 5000 design talents, covering such industries as auto, shipping, farming machinery, household appliances, stationery, mould and garment.

Over the past two years, the public supportive services have developed a lot. Six platforms including design and trade, technology service and international communication and 18 centers have been established to provide various services, including 3D printing, intellectual property protection, and product design and trade, for the introduced enterprises and the society. Its function of industrial platform has become more prominent.

To help the manufacturing enterprises to accelerate their transformation and upgrading, Hefeng Creative Square has arranged 51 design docking meetings for over 4200 enterprises in such fields as household appliances, garments, and medical instruments, realizing a cooperation-intention volume of over 100 million yuan. So far, the design output value of the introduced design institutes in the square has reached 380 million yuan. Among the top ten design enterprises with the largest annual turnover, six have settled down in Hefeng Creative Square.
