National intangible cultural heritage folk art week opens on Oct 9 in Ningbo

At the press conference of the National intangible Folk Arts Week held on September 27, the authority announced that the 2020 National Intangible Folk Arts Week will be held in Ningbo from October 9 to 14, with the theme of "integrating into modern life and promoting the values of the times". The biggest highlight is that it will be held both online and offline, and for the first time, 258 outstanding programs from 127 representative national-level intangible cultural opera projects will be gathered together and live-streamed on an online platform.

 This year's National Intangible Folk Art Week is organized by the Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Department of Arts of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Zhejiang Province, and Ningbo Municipal Government.

 "Full online coverage" is a highlight of the event. From October 5, 258 outstanding programs will be broadcasted online on the official website of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, China Intangible Cultural Heritage Network, Guangming.com, Youku, Kuaishou, Ningju and other platforms, enhancing the sense of participation and experience online and offline by opening a folk art map, H5 and so on. The opening ceremony will also use 5G+VR panoramic live broadcast on multiple platforms.

 The "offline activities" of this year's National Intangible Cultural Heritage Folk Art Week will also be brilliant. The opening ceremony strives to showcase the famous pieces of the national intangible opera, inviting classical opera such as Beijing Pingshu, Shandong Qinshu and calligraphy, and Suzhou traditional opera to participate in the show

The State Administration of Cultural Heritage Releasing 5 Major Projects of "Archaeological China"

On September 24, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage held an important work meeting on the "Archaeological China" major projects in Beijing, reporting 5 important archaeological achievements. The Yuyao Jingtoushan site was on the list.

 The five new archaeological achievements are the Kangbao Xinglong site in Hebei, the Jingtoushan site in Yuyao, Zhejiang, the Taosi site in Xiangfen, Shanxi, the Shijiahe site in Tianmen, Hubei, the Shimao and Zhaishan stone city sites in Shaanxi. The archaeological research on settlement organization, beliefs and customs, animal and plant remains, unearthed relics, palace buildings, ancient city ruins, etc., fills many gaps in prehistoric archaeological China, reveals the genes of early Chinese civilization in multiple dimensions, and is of great significance to the study of the process of Chinese civilization.

Home for High-speed Trains to be completed by 2022 in Ningbo

It is learned from Ningbo Railway Construction Office that the construction of the “home for high-speed trains” in Ningbo will be completed by the end of 2022. Upon completion, Ningbo will increase the number of trains and consolidate its position as a railway hub of the national railway network. 

The home for high-speed trains will serve as a kind a railway infrastructure for the preparation and maintenance of the high-speed train sets, according the deputy director of Ningbo Railway Office. Currently, the only one home for high-speed trains of Zhejiang Province has been built in Hangzhou. Ningbo will be the second city in the province to have such a home for high-speed trains.

According to the deputy director, the home for high-speed trains aims to provide more convenience for traffic. At present, there are about 250 high-speed train sets running at Ningbo Railway Station, but with only 37 starting trains, mainly due to the lack of such a
