On the morning of July 30th, the renovation of the former residence of Run Run Shaw, located in Qinyong Village, Zhenhai Zhuangshi Subdistrict, was completed. This will become an important window of Run Run Shaw's life story and his love for his country and hometown.
Run Run Shaw is an outstanding representative of the "Ningbo Entrepreneurs" and a native of Zhenhai. As a giant in the cultural communication industry, he worked diligently throughout his life and left behind a film and television legend in the modern history of Chinese people; As a well-known figure in the field of charity, he has drawn a gigantic map of charity on the vast land of China with countless "Yifu Buildings".
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the passing away of Mr. Run Run Shaw. With strong support from the Shaw Foundation in Hong Kong, Zhenhai District has carried out a comprehensive renovation of Sir Run Run Shaw's former residence. The local government adheres to the principle of restoring the old to its original state, making the former residence as close as possible to its original appearance and history. By excavating the life story of Run Run Shaw, more humanistic connotations and cultural values have been injected into the former residence.
It is worth mentioning that on that day, the exhibition of Sir Run Run Shaw's life began at his former residence. On the premise of not damaging the original ancient architecture, the Life Exhibition showcases the legendary life of Run Run Shaw through the construction of graphic and textual display boards, lighting, and multimedia equipment. With the theme of "Legendary Run Run Shaw", it is divided into six sections: “Boy from Zhenhai", "Film and Television Giant", "Social Celebrity", "Star Maker", "Charity Master", and "Outstanding Villager". Based on the historical context and memory of the former residence, it comprehensively and multi-dimensionally presents Run Shaw's legendary life, showcasing his heroic spirit of galloping in the business world, making achievements, and his warm deeds of upholding virtue and doing good deeds, attracting a large number of citizens and tourists to visit and experience
