Ningbo accelerates urban renewal

At the 22nd China International Urban Construction Expo, Mingzhu Community of Ningbo High-tech Zone, Yunlu Bay Community of Jiangbei District, and Tashan Community of Ninghai County were successfully selected as excellent cases for the pilot project of “National Comprehensive Achievement Exhibition of Complete Community”.

Among them, Mingzhu Community and Tashan Community are two of the three national excellent digital communities at the exhibition, showcasing the “highlight” of Ningbo’s urban renewal to the whole country.

Urban renewal has been one of the hot topics over the past couple of years.

In the future communities, residents embrace the future with the urban renewal

Mingzhu Community of the High-tech Zone has the first “shared vegetable garden” of future communities in the province, the city’s first “young pioneer route” for commuting to and from schools, and the first “zero carbon park” in Ningbo.

At the Neighborhood Center, with an area of 13,000 square meter, of Mingzhu Community, residents can drink Starbucks coffee, have the McDonald’s fast food, read and draw with their children, and exercise on the sports field. Enjoying a beautiful living space for all is a reflection of the organic integration of urban renewal and future community construction.

In old residential areas, old houses are rejuvenated through urban renewal

After renovation, Jinxiu Jianghua Community of Dazha Community, Jiangbei District, has transformed from being “dirty, messy and poor” to a place with “more green space and beautiful parks”. Zhou Yonglin, a resident of the community, exclaimed that he “IS living a comfortable life”.

So far, Ningbo has created 185 provincial-level future communities and renovated 692 residential areas. It has basically completed the renovation and renewal of old residential areas built before 2000.

This year, Ningbo is carrying out the building of future communities street-wide, with over 40 future communities to be built, accounting for about 40% of all urban communities
