Import and export volume via Ningbo Airport increased by over 40%

With the continuous increase of international passenger and freight routes, the cargo volume of Ningbo Airport continues to grow. In the first half of this year, according to the statistics of Ningbo Airport Customs, the import and export volume of Ningbo Airport reached 12 billion yuan, an increase of 42.6% over the same period of last year, setting a new historical high for the same period.
To be specific, the export value stood at 9.36 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 57.4%. The main export commodities include components of integrated circuits, and audio and video equipment. The import value was 2.64 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.8%. The main imported goods include such fresh products as lobsters and crabs, as well as high-tech products like integrated circuits.
The largest trading partner of Ningbo Airport is the United States, with an import and export volume of about 3.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 86%. The next two are Vietnam and South Korea, with the import and export volumes of 1.59 billion yuan and 1.48 billion yuan respectively, an increase of 88.9% and 32.2 times year-on-year respectively.
The import and export volume of the top three trading partners via Ningbo Airport accounted for 53.2% of the total during the same period.
According to statistics, the import and export of integrated circuit products is thriving, serving as a new growth point for the port trade at Ningbo Airport.
In the first half of this year, the import value of integrated circuits via Ningbo Airport reached 580 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 47.6%, increasing the overall import growth by 7.5 percentage points. The export value of integrated circuits reached 2.25 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 86.7%, increasing the overall export growth by 17.6 percentage points.
Among others, over half of the imported and exported goods from Ningbo Airport Port to South Korea are high-tech products like integrated circuits.
The integrated circuit industry is an important battlefield for promoting new-quality productivity. The products are generally of high value, small in size, and mostly vacuum packaged, requiring high logistics timeliness and demanding storage conditions.
