Ningbo ranks 7th in import and export

Ningbo ranks No.7 in the ports of China for its import and export valuing 200 billion US dollars. Of the total, the import and export by other cities accounts for 60%. The annual handling capacity of containers reaches 15 million standard containers, ranking the 3rd in the coastal ports in China. The city takes the 8th position in China for the amount of express mails via Ningbo Airport. According to a meeting of Ningbo Port Coordinating Commission, in 2012, the port of Ningbo was on a steady rise for its attraction and leadership capacity, laying a good foundation for its endeavor to be a strong international port.
Liu Qi, Vice Secretary of Ningbo Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Ningbo fully confirmed the progress the city made in the year. Liu Qi pointed out that all port related departments should follow the guideline of service the local economy, do a solid work in such fields as the "Easy Customs", port opening, building of international health port, anti smuggling, the business of Ningbo Shipping Exchange and so on, and make concert efforts to turn Ningbo into a first grade international port.
