Ningbo increased import of wine from EU by 20%

Thanks to the market expectation of the rise of price of wine in EU, in June, the dropping of imported wine came to an end. Updated statistics of Ningbo Customs show that in June, the import of wine from Ningbo Free Trade Zone, the largest distributing place in Ningbo, added up to 1.36 million liters, worth 4,957,000 US dollars, increased by 19.9% and 19.9% respectively. This is the first increase on the monthly basis since November 2012. Of the total, 1,172,000 liters was imported from EU, increased by 22%, covering 86.2% of the total.
The statistics of the customs show that the import of wine by Ningbo Free Trade Zone added up to 4.01 million liters, reduced by 9.2% year on year and the import values 17,740,000 US dollars, dropping by 22% year on year. In the first six months, import of wine via Ningbo Customs reached 6,252,000 liters, dropping by 3% year on year. The import is worth 28,400,000 US dollars, dropping by 8.6% year on year.
Early in June, it is believed that China would initiate an investigation of the imported wine from EU and this has resulted in the radical increase of the import of wine from EU.
