E-commerce promotes online retails

According to the latest statistics released by the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, in 2014, Ningbo realized a total online retail volume of 48.97 billion yuan and a total online sales volume of 48.832 billion yuan, achieving the online retail surplus for the first time.
Confronted with the new trend of personalized and diversified consumption, Ningbo has promoted the growth of online retails by actively boosting the E-commerce application in such seven fields as the countryside, communities, foreign trade, industrial enterprises and trade enterprises, based on its geographical advantages and economic development characteristics. Statistics show that in 2014 Ningbo’s online retail volume increased by 82.05% compared with the previous year, 35 percentage points higher than the average of the whole province, ranking No.1 among all the cities in Zhejiang Province. Within half a year, the sales volume of featured agricultural produce reached 60 million yuan through such online platforms as "Taobao Ningbo Pavilion" and "Ningbo Sales". By implementing the innovated supervision model, the cross-border E-commerce in Ningbo ranked No.1 in China in 2014 with over 1.4 million released documents and a total business volume of 370 million yuan.
To promote the online retails, Ningbo has focused on the B2C online shopping platforms and mobile internet O2O platforms featuring local consumption and living services. The "E-commerce entering villages project" has spread to Cixi County, Yinzhou District, Xiangshan County and Fenghua County based on its initial success in Yuyao County and Ninghai County. So far, 500 countryside E-commerce service stations have been established and it is expected that in three years all the villages will be included in the project. The community E-commerce pilots have also been launched, and currently communities and schools are accelerating the construction of the logistics service spots, and such everyday demands as payment, shopping and hospital registration are gradually shifting to online operations.
Currently, there are six national E-commerce pilot projects, two national E-commerce demonstration enterprises, and 2093 T-mall stores in Ningbo. Ningbo E-commerce City attracted over 210 enterprises with a total registered capital of 1.23 billion yuan. In addition, a dozen of large-scale E-commerce enterprise cluster parks have been established, including the "E-shopping Park" in Jiangdong District, the E-commerce Industrial Park of Cixi County and the Cross-border E-commerce Industrial Park of Ningbo Bonded Area
