2014 China (Ningbo) International Advanced Material Tech and Industry Exposition (“Advanced Material Exposition” in short) is held in Ningbo for the first time. Themed with “Driven by Innovation”, the exposition embraces top leaders and advanced technicians with new ideas, opinions and technological information in the industry from all over the world. The exposition shows the latest achievements and products in scientific research, the highest techniques and solutions to the whole world. Meanwhile, it offers a brand new international platform for discussion, communication and cooperation, meeting demands for the transformation and upgrading of Chinese technologies.
Gu Zhengwei, director of organizing committee of the exposition and chairman of Ningbo Municipal Council for the Promotion of the International Trade says, “We plan to fix a theme for every exposition in the future. We try to spend 3 to 5 years making the Advanced Material Exposition one of the most influential expositions for Chinese advanced materials and processing equipment technology.”
Ningbo’s debut attracting the industry
It is learned that the Advanced Material Exposition employs more than 900 international standard booths in the No. 1 to No. 4 exhibition halls at Ningbo International Convention Centre with the total area of 22,000 square metres. The exposition attracts 368 enterprises and institutions from home and abroad, covering advanced materials and scientific research, composites and polymer materials, high-performance metal materials and metallurgy as well as new inorganic non-metallic materials.
As a bright scenery line in the exposition, the first China (Ningbo) Advanced Material Exhibition enjoys high professionalism and extensive exhibits, including 13 theme exhibition areas in terms of scientific research, new chemical materials, modified plastics, energy storage materials, automobile innovative materials, 3D printing, special alloys, powder metallurgy, marine new materials, graphene materials etc, which intensively shows the upstream and downstream industry chains and terminal products of advanced materials. The exhibits will showcase the latest direction and achievements of advanced materials in terms of chemical engineering, specialty metals and alloys, nanometre, new energy, ocean, grapheme etc, covering more than 30 application fields of automobile manufacturing, aerospace, rail transportation, shipbuilding, machinery manufacturing, biomedicine, intelligent construction, household appliances and so on.
Although it is the first time for Ningbo to organize such an exposition, 2014 China (Ningbo) International Advanced Material Tech and Industry Exposition held in Ningbo has concluded with great achievements. This exposition has attracted 368 enterprises and institutions from 14 countries and HongKong SAR (including France, Korea, America, Germany, Finland, Japan, Singapore and Denmark etc) comprising new material research institutions and R&D teams from home and abroad such as Ningbo Institute of Industrial Technology, Institute of Process Engineering, Institute of Oceanology, Institute of Chemistry, Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, National Centre for Nanometre and Technology, Suzhou Institute of Nano-Tech and Nano-Bionics, China North Material Science and Engineering Technology Group Corporation, of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, Beijing University, Tongji University, Fudan University, as well as well-known material enterprises such as EVONIK, NCM and KUMHO-SUNNY, Polyplastics, Parson, Morsh, KINGFA, NBTM, Boway, Yunsheng and Huaxiang. The exposition has attracted professional visitors from the area of automobile manufacturing, aerospace, rail transportation, electronics, medical equipment, building materials and so on.

In 3 years, after the construction of new materials technology city, Ningbo will gather 5 national scientific research institutions in new material area, 300 all kinds of R&D institutes;the output value of new material industry will account for over 50% of the output value of the high and new technology industry, totally cultivate more than 2000 innovative start-ups in new material area, lead the output value of Ningbo new material industry to exceed 200 billion yuan and the output value of strategic start-ups to exceed 700 billion yuan. By 2015, all Ningbo new material industries will have strived to accomplish the all industrial output value of 160 billion yuan, especially the industrial output value above scale will break 135 billion yuan.

Small capsule is changed into intestinal doctor
Anhan Corporation will firstly show in Ningbo the globally first invented “magnet controlling capsule endoscopy robot system”. Those under examination only need to swallow a piece of “intelligent capsule”, and the robot will give the stomach an overall examination in about 15 minutes. This capsule endoscopy robot gastroscope and the traditional gastroscope are effectively complementary, and it’s disposable, has no risk of cross contamination, no pain, no harm, no anaesthesia, no psychological obstacle. Automobile made of carbon fiber composite material
The carbon fiber plug-in hybrid "Ai Ruize 7" co-made by the CAS Ningbo Material Technology and Engineering Research Institute and Chery automobile company will also be shown in the exhibition. The core advantages of this car model is that the car’s body is made from carbon fiber composite, which makes the car’s weight lightened 10%, fuel consumption reduced 7%: when the weight of car’s body is reduced between 40% to 60%, the whole can be manipulated more easily and it will bring the more outstanding acceleration. Because the The tensile strength of carbon fiber is over ３５００ＭＰa, which is 7 to 9 times of steel, this kind of car is safer and more reliable than traditional car.
Ingenious 3D Printing
There are experience zone of 3D Printing in the exhibition. The new quick forming device using the technologies, including light curing and paper lamination and so on, has the basically same operating principles with ordinary printing. The printer contains “ printing material” needed in printing, and when the printer is connected with computer, computer controlling will overlay the “ printing material” layer by layer, and finally the blueprint in the computer will be turned into material object. The USA enterprise listed in the global top two, whose agent is the Shanghai Fu Fei Technology, will show any conceivable non liquid or gas products in the exhibition, including 3D portrait print (covering infant,juvenile, youth, new-wed couples and the elderly and so on), personalized jewelry, the car model making and the 3D real estate sand model making and so on.
