600 fitness paths to be improved

Since the completion of the first batch of fitness paths in Ningbo in 1998, these public sports and fitness facilities have greatly influenced the citizens' living styles. However, with the passage of time, the aging and damaging of the paths have posed a lot of problems for the maintenance and management of them. In 2013, Ningbo Sports Bureau started the "repair report service platform for sports and fitness facilities".
It is reported that so far over 700 fitness paths (in Haishu District, Jiangdong District and Jiangbei District) have been registered on the platform. When a report request is received, the platform manager will verify the information and then inform the maintenance team to conduct timely repair. Small problems will be solved within 24 hours, while for difficult ones or further updating, the reply will be made within 24 hours. "The platform will be put into trial operation for one month in April. We will integrate all the fitness paths in other districts and counties into the platform to establish a long-term supervision system of the public sports facilities." said a related person from the Mass Sports Department of Ningbo Municipal Sports Bureau.
