Ningbo ranks No.1 in Zhejiang in service industry in Zhejiang

On January 24, Ningbo Statistics Bureau held a press conference about the economic operation of Ningbo in 2012.

At the conference it was announced that in 2012 the GDP of Ningbo amounts 652.47 billion yuan. Calculated by comparable price, it rises by 7.8% year on year, leveling the average of the Province (8.0%) and the average of the country.

In 2012, the GDP of Ningbo amounts 652.47 billion yuan. Of the industries, the industrial output value reaches 27 billion yuan, increased by 1.6%; the added value of the secondary industry reaches 351.67 billion yuan, increased by 6.0%. Of the total, the industrial output value amounts to 317 billion yuan, increased by 6.0%; the added value of the tertiary industry amounts to 273.8 billion yuan, increased by 10.9%. According to Tang Baisheng, director of Ningbo Statistics Bureau, the recovery of the industrial economic is indispensible with the innovation and upgrading of enterprises.

 

In 2012, the total of self-managed import and export reached 96.57 billion US dollars, decreased by 1.6% against the same period of the previous year. Ningbo approved 205 companies and institutions opened in foreign countries, with the confirmed investment by Chinese enterprises amounting to 1.31 billion US dollars, increased by 18.3% above the previous year. The actual investment by Chinese enterprises amounts to 610 million US dollars. The output of overseas projects and labor services amounts 1.24 billion US dollars, increased by 12.2%.

In 2012 the added value of the service industry increased by 13.9% year on year, ranking No.1 in Zhejiang in the growth rate. The wholesale industry, the banking industry, the real property industry and the transportation industry contributed 69.5% to the total of all the service industries.

The commodity trade kept growing, breaking 1,000 billion yuan, increased by 13.1%. In the year, the throughput of cargo handled by the Port of Ningbo reaches 453 million tons, increased by 4.5%. The containers that the Port of Ningbo handled amounted to 15,671,000 standard containers, ranking the 3rd in Mainland China and the 6th in the world. By the end of December, the balance of local and foreign currencies by the banks and financial institutions in the city reached 1198.05 billion yuan, increased by 12.4%.

In 2012, the per capita disposable income for urban citizens is 37,902 yuan, increased by 11.3% above the previous year. In real terms after adjusting for inflation it increased by 9.4%. The per capital net income of the rural residents reaches 18,475 yuan, increased by 11.8%. In real terms after adjusting for inflation the increase reaches 10.0 %, growing faster than that of the GDP.

The total retail sales of consumer goods reached 232.93 billion yuan, increased by 15.4% over the previous year. The consumption of smart phones is the highlight of the consumer market. The retail sales of automobiles increased by 4.8%, with the growth rate 6.2 points lower than the same period of the previous year.
