Fireworks sales during the Spring Festival drops by 60%.

February 15th is the last day for allowing the setting-off of firecrackers in downtown Ningbo. From February 16, Jiangdong, Jiangbei, Haishu and Yinzhou district will put a comprehensive ban on it and the sales is prohibited, too.
Compared with last year, people can clearly feel that the amount of firework setting off this year has dropped. According to authorities, the wholesale sales of central city fireworks decreased by more than 60% and the city's wholesale sales decreased by 40% from November the 28th by lunar calendar to the 16th day of the first lunar month (28 January to 15 February).
“Considering the haze weather, environmental safety and things like that, more and more people gave up fireworks this year, which is a civilized and rational choice." says Zhu Meiyan, the associate professor of Ningbo University of Technology.
