Aquatic products export grows

Statistics from Ningbo Customs show that in the first three quarters of 2013, the aquatic products export via the Ningbo Port reached 329,000 tons, an increase of 3.8% over the same period last year. The total value stood at $1.27 billion, an increase of 5%, with the average export price of $3,860 per ton, up by 1.2%.
The ASEAN, the EU, and South Korea are the top three export markets for the first three quarters, with the export amounts being 81,000 tons, 58,000 tons and 56,000 tons respectively. Among the aquatic products, the frozen mackerel and frozen yellow croaker gained most popularity among foreign customers, with the export value standing at $107.48 million and $80.03 million, respectively. To guarantee the timely shipment of perishable products, Ningbo Customs has opened up the "green channel" to facilitate the export of aquatic products.
