Imports of diapers soar

Statistics from Ningbo Customs show that over the first three quarters of this year, the baby diapers imported via Ningbo Port have reached 50030 tons, with a total value of 250 million yuan, both up by about 210% over the same period of last year.
Private enterprises have become the main force for diaper export, with the export amount of 4921 tons, up by 210%, accounting for 97.8% of the total imports. Japan is the biggest source market, with the imports standing at 4980 tons, up by 220%, accounting for 99% of the total imports.
Over the past few years, with the improvement of people's living standard and people’s faith on the quality of imported diapers, the baby diaper imports have been on the rise. Meanwhile, as one of the major products for cross-border e-commerce enterprises, imported diapers have been favored by local consumers, which has also greatly promoted the growth of diaper import at present.
