Housing price in April goes up

According to the "residential housing prices of 70 major cities" of April released by the National Bureau of Statistics on May 18, the housing price in Ningbo maintained the upward trend in April. Among others, the price of the new residential housing went up by 8.3% over the same period of last year, an increase of 1.1 percentage points over that of the previous month, and it rose by 1.1% over the previous month, a decrease of 0.5% over the rise in March.

According to the newly released statistics, among the 70 major cities, 46 cities witnessed the increase of the new residential housing price, while 23 cities witnessed the decrease. In terms of the price change year-on-year, the increase rate of the comprehensive average price of the newly-built residential housing in first and second-tier cities continued to go up, while that of the third-tier cities began to take up an upward trend.

In terms of the price change over the previous month, the statistics show that in April 65 cities saw the month-on-month increase, while five witnessed decrease. Among the 46 cities, 22 had a rise of over 1%, and two had a rise of over 5%, with the highest increase rate of 5.8%. "The housing price increases in general, and more cities witness the rise of housing price. However, there is a new trend, that is, the price rise of the first-tier cities declines, while that of the second and third-tier cities continues to go up." analyzed Liu Jianwei, Senior Statistician from the Urban Department of the National Bureau of Statistics.

In Ningbo, after the price rise of the new residential housing in the past consecutive 12 months, the price in April continued the upward trend month-on-month, however, the increase rate declined by 0.5 percentage point over that of March. Compared with the same month of the previous year, the price went up by 8.3%, an increase of 1.1 percentage points over that of the previous month
