It's Happening....

Hangzhou-Changsha High-speed Rail to open in October

It is learned from the railway department that the Hangzhou-Changsha High-speed Rail project has entered the linkage trial stage and some sections will soon be finished. It is expected that the rail will be completed and open to traffic in October 2014, which means that it only will take five hours from Ningbo to Changsha the high-speed train.

Since July 2013, Ningbo has stepped into the era of high-speed rails. By the end of this year, with the completion of the coastal railroad lines, the complete north-south high-speed railroad network will be established, with Shenyang and Shenzhen being the two farthest destinations from Ningbo. The opening of the Hangzhou-Changsha High-speed Rail symbolizes the launching of the railroad westward.

With the new railroad, it will only take three and a half hours to get to Nanchang, and five hours to Changsha.

It is worth noting that the opening of the Hangzhou-Changsha High-speed Rail may greatly shorten the space distance between Ningbo and cities in the central and western Zhejiang Province. With Hangzhou as the starting point, the rail runs along the stations in Zhuji, Yiwu, west Jinhua, south Longyou, Quzhou and Jiangshan. It only takes about two hours to get to Ningbo from Jiangshan, located at the west end of the high-speed rail.
