Haishu district collaborates with two universities for autism research & education

In order to develop a set of curriculum system for China’s autistic children, Haishu Education Bureau has signed a research agreement with University of Tsukuba on March 2. Taking Ningbo Damin School as a sample, both parties will deeply study China’s education mode for autistic children.

The research period starts from April 1, 2015 and ends on March 31, 2018. Both parties will study to develop a set of curriculum for China’s autistic children, monitor the influence of the curriculum system on special schools as well as on kindergartens, primary schools and junior high schools. They will focus mainly on researching Chinese education mode for autistic children.(also known as Haishu’s education mode for autistic children) It is learned that the collaborative results will be displayed by means of publishing books as well as exchanging experience and hosting achievement conferences on international academic forums to make them pervasive and applicable both at home and abroad.

 

University of Tsukuba is a top 10 university in Japan, which boasts excellent majors, especially in College of Disability Sciences that can cultivate talents for special education.

In order to promote the service quality of education for autistic children, Supportive Education Resource Center of Haishu has singed an agreement with Autism Research Center of East China Normal University to promote the projects of autism education and research in primary and middle schools and co-establish an experimental and research base for autism education in Haishu district.

The collaborative period was set for two years, starting from March 2, 2015 and ending on March 1, 2017. Autism Research Center of East China Normal University is responsible for the planning and design of the overall solution as well as training courses of intervention technology for autism education while Supportive Education Resource Center of Haishu  holds accountability for helping it to organize and monitor the activities of teachers and autistic children in primary and middle schools as well as organizing a research training for parents to take part in based on research mode set by East China Normal University.

During the collaborative period, both parties will study effective intervention methods and education mode for developmental disorder children, especially for autistic children, through scientific research.  It aims at promoting professional development level of teachers and building high-toned regional education and research base to gradually form characteristic and perspicuous education experience and management mode to be imparted at a certain scope.
