Fast traffic network to be completed in Cixi

The section between Shengshan and Henghe of Shengshan-Lubu Overpass, the first elevated urban highway invested by a county in Zhejiang Province, will be completed and open to traffic by the end of this year.
Based on the exisiting Shenyang-Haikou Freeway, Cixi will mainly focus on the construction of the "one horizontal and two vertical" freeways. The horizontal freeway refers to the double track of the Hangzhou-Ningbo Freeway, which has started the pre-project study. And the two vertical lines refer to the Shenyang-Haikou Freeway and the Yuyao-Cixi Central Linking Way of the Hangzhou Bay Bridge, with the latter one listed among the freeway network planning of Ningbo and having starting the preparation.
The central horizontal elevated road will be planned over the 50-meter wide road. And most of the five vertical elevated roads, including Zhou'an Road, Shengshan-Lubu Elevated Road, Guanfu Road, Hubin Road and Changqiu Road, will be built based on the exisiting roads. The section between Shengshan and Henghe of the Shengshan-Lubu Elevated Road will be completed by the end of this year. And the section between Henghe and Yuyao-Cixi border will be started next year.
With the focus on such comprehensive traffic passages as the freeways and fast urban roads, Cixi will build a comprehensive traffic network with three major highways. The east-westward freeway system includes the Cixi linkway of the Shenyang-Haikou Freeway, the Cixi section of the G329 State Road, and the central horizontal line. As the busiest traffic passage, the system mainly undertakes the traffic flow from Hangzhou to Ningbo and the fast and bulk freight traffic across the municipal border. The south-northward freeway system connects Shanghai and south Jiangsu Province with Ningbo. With such major roads as the Yuyao-Cixi Central Linking Way, Shengshan-Lubu Elevated Road, and Zhou'an Road, the system mainly undertakes the traffic flow from Shanghai to central Zhejiang Province. The coastal line is mainly responsible for the traffic flow between Shanghai and Ningbo. And besides the Shenyang-Haikou Freeway, the double track of the Hangzhou-Ningbo feeway (planned) and the S202 Provincial Road will play a major role in this regard.
