It's Happening....

Entry-exit passengers at Ningbo Port break one million mark

At 13:30 on December 28, a Mr. Xing, when going through the inspection before boarding on a Dragonair flight to Hong Kong, was informed that he was the one millionth entry-exit passenger at the airport. It means that the number of the entry-exit passengers has exceeded one million.
With the rapid development of Ningbo's export-oriented economy, Ningbo Airport has played a more prominent role as an open port. Since 2010, Ningbo Municipal Party Committee and Ningbo Government have launched a series of policies to promote the internationalization of Ningbo Airport. By reforming the service models, strengthening customs clearance convenience and increasing the intensity of health inspection, Ningbo Airport has improved its port services and the growth of the entry-exit passengers has maintained over 10% over the past five consecutive years.

"The airport has an annual passenger flow of about seven million, ranking among the top 40 in China, while the number of its international passengers accounts for about 15% of the total, ranking No.13 in the country, outnumber many large domestic airports with a capacity of ten million passengers." said Xu Zhuang, Deputy Director of the Market Development Department of Ningbo Airport. According to him, the airport will open the charter or regular flights to the CEEC area in 2016 to expand its European market. Ningbo's flight network connecting the global network has taken shape, with the direct flights to Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, the Southeast Asian area and Europe.
So far, there are about 20 foreign airlines operating the international flights at Ningbo Airport with 26 flight routes. Besides such domestic airlines as China Eastern Airlines and Chunqiu Airlines, and such airlines from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan as Dragonair, HK Express, EVA Air and Airmacao, some foreign airlines have launched flights at the airport, including the Tigerair from Singapore, the AirAsia from Thailand, and the T'way Air and Korean Air from South Korea. The destinations of the direct flights include such major cities in Japan and South Korea as Jeju, Incheon, Osaka, Nagoya, and Shizuoka, and such major tourist cities in Southeast Asia as Bangkok and Singapore. Charter flights have also been open to such European cities as Rome and Frankfurt.
With the holding and settlement of such large-scale conferences as the CEEC Expo, the APEC Summit and the World Internet Conference, Ningbo has built much closer business, tourist and trade ties with the whole world, especially some European countries. In the following five years, Ningbo Airport will add five to ten flights to foreign cities or Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan areas. And the proportion of regular flights will increase steadily.
