An international recreational fishing base settles down in Damu Bay area

The title rewarding ceremony for "Damu Bay International Recreational Fishing Base", the 5th international recreational fishing base in China, was held in Xiangshan County on the morning of September 15. Qi Jingfa, former Vice-minister of Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and President of Chinese Recreational Fishing Association, awarded the plaque to the base.
According to Cai Dongbo, Director of the Developing and Managing Committee of Damu Bay Area, since the committee started the application project for the fishing base in June 2013, the fishing association has organized delegates and expert groups (including experts from Shanghai Marine University) to carry out on-site examination and research. In July 2014, the project was approved officially and Damu Bay became one of the top five international recreational fishing bases in China.
The 1st China (Xiangshan) Damu Bay Recreational Fishing Contest was held on September 15, attracting about 60 fishing masters in 20 teams from such areas as Shanghai, Zhejiang Province, and Fujian Province.
