The Logistics Alliance Development Forum as well as the founding meeting for International Logistics Suppliers Alliance was held in Ningbo on August 1. Professor Zhao Yifei from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Professor Yu Haihong from Ningbo University and dozens of representatives from logistics enterprises in Ningbo attended the meeting and discussed on the topic of ensuring the steady development of logistics industry against the international economic slowdown.
According to the meeting, the major problems the local logistics industry encounters now are rising costs, added risks, shortage of logistics talents and low level of information ability. Under such a situation, the logistics enterprises seek to achieve mutual development through cooperation besides competing with each other, thus the founding of the logistics suppliers alliance.
The International Logistics Suppliers Alliance is a logistics information platform, which transforms the traditional logistics to specialized modern information logistics by adopting such concepts as internet and E-business. The alliance aims to control the risks and ensure the steady development of logistics industry against the gloomy international economy. Besides, to promote the development of Ningbo’s logistics economy, the Logistics and Trade Association of Ningbo Shipping Exchange has signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the alliance. They will make joint efforts to promote the construction of the logistics network system featuring “credit and finance”, and provide characteristic financial services for the international logistics industry.
