Foreign trade volume rebounded in July

Due to the steady rise of US and European markets, Ningbo’s foreign trade has been running smoothly. Statistics from Ningbo Customs show that the import and export volume of Ningbo in the first seven months of 2014 reached 362.35 billion yuan, up by 1.9% over the same period of last year. To be specific, the export volume reached 247.94 billion yuan, up by 7.5%. The growth of import & export volume and the growth of export volume are higher than those of the whole country by 1.7 percentage points and 6.4 percentage points respectively. In July, the import and export volume reached US$9.82 billion, up by 8.8% over the same period of last year, showing a clear trend for rebound.  
Private enterprises are doing well. In the first seven months, the private enterprises in Ningbo had a total import and export volume of 203.01 billion yuan, up by 7.5%, accounting for 56% of the total import and export volume by Ningbo enterprises, 2.9 percentage points higher over the same period of last year. Specifically speaking, the export volume reached 154.54 billion yuan, an increase of 15%. In terms of the market distribution, the EU and US were the top two export markets for Ningbo, with the respective export volume of 65.72 billion yuan and 48.27 billion yuan, up by 12% and 9% respectively. Meanwhile, the export to emerging markets also turned up. To be specific, the export to ASEAN reached 17.71 billion yuan, up by 13.5%, and exports to such countries as Russia, Australia and India continued to grow.   


The export of labor-intensive products has been growing. From January to July, the total export volume of seven categories (including clothes and accessories, textile materials, household appliances, plastic products, lamps, furniture and parts, and shoes) reached 87.6 billion yuan, up by 12.2% over the same period of last year, accounting for 35.3% of the total export volume of the whole city, 1.4 percentage points higher over the same period of 2013.
On August 22, the Beilun Customs attached to Ningbo Customs was well under way for its clearance business. By 3pm, there had been 182 import orders and 246 export orders. The manual inspection declaration forms reached 102 and 137 containers had been inspected, while the machine inspection declaration forms reached 75 and 115 containers inspected.
