"Ship Online Auction" attracts overseas buyers

Recently, the "Ship Online Auction" platform attached the Ningbo Shipping Exchange witnessed its first online cross-border sale with an overseas buyer purchasing a large-scale trailing suction hopper dredger.
The bidding activity of the "Ship Online Auction" attracted a dozen of bidders from home and abroad, and after rounds of bidding, four ships were sold. "Huihe", a large-scale trailing suction hopper dredger, was the most popular one. After 119 rounds of fierce bidding starting from 22 million yuan, it was finally bought by a Southeast Asian buyer with 35 million yuan. It is reported that the online auction has attracted some overseas buyers before, mostly trusting the domestic agencies for bidding.
"Currently, the domestic shipping situation is not optimistic with a surplus of shipping capacity, rendering a large number of ships enter the judicial proceedings. The open "Ship Online Auction" attracts the attention of the buyers from the Southeast Asian countries and some postwar reconstructing countries, where ships are in great demand for cargo transportation and project construction. Therefore, an increasing number of overseas buyers are attending the auction." said Ma Yao, General Manger of Ningbo Ship Trade Market
