Research on the Feasibility of Ningbo-Jinhua Railway Project Star

Progress has been made in the much concerned Ningbo-Jinhua railway. It was informed on May 4th that research on the feasibility of this project and related studies has been open for biddings.
According to the bidding announcement, this railway route starts from Jinhua west station of Shanghai-Kunming railway, passing through Yiwu City and Dongyang City in Jinhua, Shengzhou City and Xinchang City in Shaoxing , Fenghua City and Yinzhou District in Ningbo. The final destination is Ningbo station. The total length is about 248 km, among which 178 km are newly established and 9.68 km are rebuilt along Zhejiang-Jiangxi railway, and 70 km are existing route. we aim to build 46 bridges of 48.8 km and 32 tunnels 76.2 km. The proportion of bridge to tunnel reaches 70%. This railway route will have 9 stations. Reconstruction of related transportation projects in Jinghua( Yiwu) and Ningbo will also be included. The bureau of bullet trains was set up in Ningbo. The total investment is estimated to hit 25.3 billion yuan.
It is known that this announcement has a few changes from the former plan of this railway. The whole length is increased by about 16 km. Bullet trains bureau is built in Ningbo. This facility is mainly for the maintenance and storage of bullet trains. So it is also called “the home for bullet trains”.
Developing the feasibility report is an important part during the early period of the project. It has to pass reviewing and waits for the reply from relevant department. According to the “Double Eight Plan”of railway in Zhejiang, the construction of Ningbo-Jinhua railway is expected to start between 2016 and 2017.
