Ningbo's home prices drop slightly in August

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) released on Monday home prices in the 70 monitored Chinese cities in August. The data shows that Ningbo recorded month-on-month declines in both new home (excluding affordable housing) and second-hand home prices in August.
According to the NBS data, Ningbo's new home prices in August fell 0.4 percent month-on-month. The decline rate is 0.2 percentage points lower over the previous month. On a year-on-year basis, the figure recorded an 8.5 percent drop. The decline rate is 0.3 percentage points higher over the previous month. Secondhand house prices fell by 0.2 percent month-on-month, and the decline rate is 0.3 percentage points lower over the previous month. The prices represent a year-on-year decline of 5.1 percent, and the decline rate is 0.1 percentage points lower over the previous month.
New home prices of the 70 monitored cities in August fell on a month-on-month basis in 20 cities, flat in 14 cities, and rose in 36 cities. The decline rate of Ningbo ranks the third. Secondhand home prices of the 70 cities fell on a month-on-month basis in 16 cities, flat in 16 cities, rose in 38 cities. Ningbo ranks sixth in terms of decline rate.
