Ningbo Customs resumes normal customs clearance

Ningbo has on resumed on its normal customs clearance service, which was suspended due to Typhoon "Fitow".

The Beilun Customs Lounge was busy on Tuesday as it restored service. "It’s still hard to get to work with the poor traffic now, but the orders and shipping dates are already scheduled for the customers. We’ll overcome difficulties and ensure customs clearance on time," said Zheng Yuehua, an inspection chief, who was examining goods from Zhengpin Electric Co., Ltd..

To ensure normal customs clearance and inspection, Ningbo Customs assigned an emergency team to assist customs staff. Xiaozhu works as an inspector in the team. Living in the west of Ningbo, he has to walk in the water for nearly three hours to catch a shuttle for Beilun District. Together with his colleagues, Sun Feng, Deputy Chief of the Immigration Customs in Ningbo Airport chose to stay in the airport overnight. Statistics show that Ningbo Customs completed a total of 810 declarations and 229 goods inspections on October 8. but the figure soon rose to 1,620 and 272 the next day, which indicates the service has been restored to normal levels .

Ningbo Customs officials reminded customers to pay attention to their working hours. The International Shipping Center opens from 9:00 am to 11:30 am and 13:00 pm to 16:00 pm. Beilun Inspection Center opens from 9:00 am to 16:00 am and by appointment after 16:00 pm. In addition, local companies are welcome to call 12360 for further information.
