Chief workers playing a leading role in innovation

The team of chief workers is steadily growing and they are making more and more innovative achievements. The other day, Ningbo Trade Union and Ningbo Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau jointly commended 56 workers as the chief workers of Ningbo for 2012 and hence Ningbo has 583 chief workers. The chief workers are the mainstay of production and they are the leading force in technological innovation in enterprises and they are playing a leading role in the industrial transformation and upgrading of enterprises.
In 2004, Ningbo General Trade Union started to select chief workers and in 2010 the Trade Union set up the goal to have a team of 1,000 chief workers. Under the guidance of the chief workers, innovative workshops and workshops of model workers, a large number workers are engaging themselves in technological innovations of various kind and energy saving and discharge reduction. In 2012, over 100,000 workers in more than 3,000 enterprises were involved in such innovations, making over 5,500 innovative results, with estimated economic returns valuing over 100 million yuan.
