GDP energy consumption in Jiangdong fell in 2014

On the morning of July 17, Jiangdong District had a meeting on energy-saving and emission-reduction. The meeting looked back at the energy-saving and emission-reduction in the district in 2014 and decided the work focus this year. It also had an award ceremony for the outstanding teams. The district government signed letters of responsibility of energy-saving and emission-reduction with all sub-districts in 2015.
It is learned that since the 12th five-year plan, the energy-saving and emission-reduction has made noticeable achievements. In 2014 the GDP energy consumption in the district dropped by 7.3%, fulfilling the 3% annual objective. From 2011 to 2014, the GDP energy consumption has altogether fell 25.5%, fulfilling ahead of time the 19% objective set by the 12th five-year plan. Besides, the district’s total energy consumption totaled 834 thousand tons standard coal in 2014, lower than the 884 thousand tons objective.
The meeting also specified the objectives for 2015. This year, Jiangdong district will continue to optimize the industrial structure and actively promote energy-saving technical upgrading in such areas as tourism and trade enterprises, industrial enterprises and building industry. It is planned that the GDP energy consumption this year will drop more than 2.5%. The total energy consumption will be controlled within 926 thousand tons standard coal. It will also strive to eliminate outdated production to save 500 tons standard coal and 650 mu land. It will try to promote the upgrading of industries in Ailiu Industrial Zone, aiming to build it into a garment industrial park which integrates design, R&D, production and sale
