Cixi joins the top 10 counties of cultural industry in Zhejiang

It is learned from the Department of Culture, Radio, Film, TV, Press and Publication of Cixi that the Office of Zhejinag Leading Group on Cultural Reform and Development has released the lists of Zhejiang Major County( City, District) of Cultural Industry and Major Cultural Enterprise, in which Cixi was selected.
Cixi has been sticking to the goal of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China to make cultural industry a mainstay industry of national economy since 2013. Cixi is committed to establishing and improving policy and system related to cultural industry, forming comparative and late-mover advantages as well as supporting and serving cultural industry and enterprise. Cixi has witnessed eye-catching achievements in reform, structural adjustment and upgrading by cultural industry after two years of development.
Traditional industries like cultural product manufacturing and product sales industries are becoming pillar industries. Cultural product manufacturing industry is now witnessing increased profit and brand influence propped up by strong basis of industry and manufacturing industry as well as technological revolution, transformation and upgrading.
Emerging Industries like television animation and cultural creativity design are entrenched showing highlights constantly. Smart Nest•Cixi Cultural Creativity Park was granted the title as Top 10 Cultural Creativity Space. Chicky Rainbow project from Ningbo Storm Animation won the Golden Monkey King Award. A deal was also inked with online video media like Letv, Sohu and iQIYI for broadcasting. Cixi Cultural Card, a cultural consumption product, was developed linking finance, culture and internet. With Cixi’s charming landscape and humanistic spirit, cultural industries are becoming a new cultural highlight.
Arts and crafts like old furniture(antique) collection and trading as well as Yue celadon ware are forming a stronger influence of local brands. Located in Zhougang town, old furniture industry has become China’s largest collecting and distributing center. Besides, a new industry is now being established due to improved celadon firing skills
A series of achievements showcase Cixi’s long-term development for cultural industry. It is further proved by a collection of data: 2014 witnessed added value of 6.139 billion yuan in the cultural industry, an increase of 18.06% from the previous year, standing for 5.52% of GDP and No.2 in Ningbo.
It is learned that a one-on-one contacting system will be established between leaders from Publicity Department of Zhejiang Province and Top 10 County(City, District) of Cultural Industry. Together with other relevant departments, strong support will be given to those major cultural industries in terms of their news promotion, planning, policy, project promotion, enterprise listing, bank credit, brand recommendation and personnel cultivation. Top 10 County(City, District) of Cultural Industry also have the privilege to use the special fund of Zhejiang cultural industry.
Binjiang District and Xihu District of Hangzhou, Dongyang City and Yiwu City of Jinhua, Yinzhou District of Ningbo, Deqing Country of Huzhou, Keqiao District of Shaoxing, Lucheng District of Wenzhou and Huangyan District of Taizhou are also among the list.
