Beilun to be capable of the berthing of 150,000-ton-container ships

On January 19, The Port of Ningbo has the innovation project of four wharfs pass the designing check by the Ministry of Communications.
The four wharfs are: the container ship wharf of Beilun of the Port of Ningbo, Daxie Container Wharf, the multi-functional wharf of Beilun Mountain, and the wharf of Beilun Power Plant.
With the innovation project, the capacity of the wharfs will be radically upgraded, especially the container ship wharf of Beilun and Daxie International Container Wharfs—they will be capable of berthing 150,000-tonnage container ships, the largest ones in China.
A 150,000-tonnage container ship is usually capable of loading 14,000 standard containers.
According to a related authority from Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Port Administration, the innovation project will not only ensure work safety but also strengthen the enterprises' core competence and integrate the coastal resources. This year the Port of Ningbo plans to complete 13 innovative projects of wharfs which promise to increase the annual passage capacity of the ports by 43.47 million tons under the present coastal resources.
