A Hundred New Energy-saving Projects in Zhenhai Competing for Rewards

Recently, Ningbo Oceanking Chemical Co. decided to invest over 10 million yuan in six energy-saving projects, including the utilization of waste heat. “Though it will bring some pressure, with the support of government policies our company will firmly hold on to it,” said a person in charge of the company.

Since the beginning of this year, Zhenhai District has effected 35 proposals about cost reduction and environment protection to advance the energy-saving projects. By doing so, it also expected to stimulate introduction of high technology and critical equipment into companies, which can transform the traditional industries to make them better equipped and more competitive. In this way, enterprises spurred their development of an environment-friendly economy while striving for their transformation and upgrading.

As is introduced by an official of Ningbo Municipal Economic and Information Technology Committee, the district, considering its own economic features, released another 13 complementary proposals which increased rewards for enterprises promoting the application of energy-saving techniques and equipment. And now the reward for a single project rises to 500 yuan per ton of standard coal saved from 300 yuan. The favorable policies fueled a boom of enterprises applying for energy-saving projects, of which 100 were approved and a total of 0.43 billion yuan investment was expected to save 0.116 million tons of standard coal. Over 10 enterprises of the hundred have already started their projects.

Energy system upgrading, waste heat utilization, furnace transformation, new energy promotion, …all these energy-saving projects provide a green engine to the prosperity of the traditional industries in Zhenhai. Recently, Ningbo Jiangning Chemical Co., Ltd. completed its technical transformation of the boiler feed pump, butane vaporizer and maleic anhydride device, succeeding in cutting energy consumption, exhaust emission and production costs. Every year it saved 3,970 tons of standard coal for the company. A person in charge of Ningbo Juhua Chemical Corporation said that the company expected over 0.5 million yuan’s reward for its energy-saving project according to the new policy.

It’s reported that in 2016, Zhenhai District will offer additional incentive rewards, namely 0.2 yuan per kilowatt hour, to photovoltaic projects besides subsidies already provided by the country, the province and the municipality. This grabbed the eye of many companies. The largest photovoltaic project in Zhenhai, adopting new management pattern, has been put in service. Besides the profits in electricity generation, its host company also won support from fiscal subsidy. With promotion through setting models, photovoltaic projects have mushroomed in Zhenhai currently. Many projects held by enterprises including Alps Electric, Henjia Paper, etc., were registered and waiting to start in the near future. Over 60 eligible companies also expressed such intentions.
