The Twelfth Xuxiake Festival Opens in Ninghai

This May 19 was the annual Tourism Day in China for the fourth year. On the same day the birthplace of tourism, Ninghai, greeted his twelfth Xuxiake festival.
After a brief opening ceremony, the annual grand festival is officially opened among the thundering salutes, extending warm welcome to friends and guests from afar. Young men and dancers in traditional Han clothes are raising flag, offering tributes,singing and dancing, worshiping and chanting--ways to pay attribute to Xu Xiake. The man who impersonnates Mr. Xu is up on a horseback walking towards the west, highlighting the grand ceremony.
At 10.30, an array of thousands of walkers left the west gate tower plaza, heading for the Xuxiake ancient road, as a prelude of Thousanads Revisiting.
“I feel really excited to walk on the old road. It was my first time.I learned him and his journal in textbook when I was a child.I really appreciate this opportunity for me to know about his altitudes of life and journey better.” A college student in Ningbo says.
