Fenghua launches tea-themed tourism

With the coming of the tea-picking season, the workers on the tea farms of the Yangjiayan Village of Shangtian Town of Fenghua County have been busy picking up the tea leaves. In the past, the beautiful scene was enjoyed only by the workers, now with the opening of the Nanshan Tea Farm as a sightseeing spot, the tourists from different places can come to appreciate the tea picking and drinking themselves.

The Fenghua County, with its rich resources of tea fields, has started to transfer from the tea products sales to the "ecological tea products" integrating culture, tourism and leisure industry. The Nanshan Tea Farm is one of the examples for the transformation and upgrading of the traditional tea farms.

"With the support of the Shangtian Town Government, I invested 1.5 million yuan to explore the ancient road of the Dalei Mountain, to attract tourists from Shanghai, Hangzhou and Ningbo to come for sightseeing and tea picking." said Fang Gulong, owner of the Nanshan Tea Farm. In the following years, such plants as the cherry, blueberry, oriental cherry and ginkgo will be planted around the tea farm, and the tourists can come for sightseeing in all the four seasons for different scenes and activities.

Nanshan Tea Farm is not the only one that integrates tea industry with tourism. The Yuyi Tea Farm of the Xiwu Street and the Central Tea Farm of the Dayan Town have also made great efforts to combine the ecological culture and the countryside leisure tourism in the hope of building the featured tourist complex themed on tea culture that integrates sightseeing, interaction, leisure and holidaying.
