Facility agriculture promoting modern agriculture transformation and upgrading

Two "intelligent greenhouses" are established in Cixi Shaogen Vegetables Cooperative Society: an intelligent terminal automatically adjusts the temperature, light and humidity every five minutes; and a display is showing the real-time monitoring information of the greenhouse which is divided into nine sections. Such kind of intelligent agriculture machines are common nowadays in the agriculture cooperative societies in Ningbo. The rise of the facility agriculture and "intelligent agriculture machiney" has made a great difference in the traditional way of crop growing and promoted the modern agriculture transformation and upgrading in Ningbo.
Since 2010, the agriculture machinery departments in Ningbo have included the facility agriculture construction in the subsidy scope and have implemented a total amount of subsidies of nearly 40 million yuan and attracted social capitals of 150 million yuan. Since last year, Ningbo has initiated the intelligent agriculture machinery construction and has established the comprehensive information management platform integrating the agriculture machinery geography information, the "telescope" network video surveillance, the intelligent logistics control of featured pillar industries and the video conference system. Such advanced technologies as 3S, Internet of Things and solar energy have been introduced into the agricultural machinery area to form a reasonable combination with existing machinery and equipments.
Glass greenhouse and steel-framed awnings replaced the traditional bamboo awnings and brought about fields that can yield a production volume of over 10,000 yuan. "In the intelligent glass greenhouses, the unit production can increase by 20% to 30%, and the production of the breeding vegetables can increase from 80,000 yuan to 110,000 yuan per mu." According to Cen Shaogen, President of Shaogen Cooperative Society, "To give full play to the yielding potential, the field management must become accurate." The intelligent greenhouse controller can control the air blower, the wet curtain, the nozzle and the internal and external shadings, thus retaining a temperature of 28℃ for the vegetables even if it is as high as 32℃ outdoors. This is the magic of "accurate agriculture".
In addition to the production increase, the facility agriculture and intelligent machinery will also play a key role in promoting the modern urban agriculture development. On the Kangpuyuan Farm near the southern business district, General Manager Chai Dongliang is building an intelligent urban agriculture system. As a new-type of organic leisure garden with the system of "membership distribution", the farm has built intelligent greenhouses, the tracing system for agricultural products, distribution network tracing system and intelligent management system. "All the links, from a vegetable seed to the vegetable delivered, are now intelligent. Our members can have fun in the park and food safety is guaranteed."
Such urban vegetable gardens as the Kangpuyuan Farm are springing up in Ningbo. With the development of intelligent greenhouses, even the agricultural pattern of the suburban areas will be changed. Jiangbei District, with its stretches of farm fields, is in the process of such transformation and upgrading. In the Sanqin Village of Cicheng Town, glass greenhouses have been set up in the fields. According to Zhao Bo, the investor, the glass greenhouses and thin-shading greenhouses with a total area of 20,000 square meters will be built to cultivate melons and fruits and graft seedlings
