Energy consumption per unit of GDP in Jiangbei District decreases by 7%

It is learned from the Development and Reform Bureau of Jiangbei District that the district's energy consumption per unit of GDP in 2014 decreases by 7%, over-fulfilling the energy control target set by the municipal government, and guaranteeing the completion of the energy saving task of the 12th Five-year Plan period. The achievement is mainly due to the district's efforts in optimizing the industrial structure, focusing on the energy saving and consumption reduction work, and promoting the implementation of the energy saving measures.
By eliminating the outdated crafts of three stainless steel melting plants, two casting enterprises and three printing and dyeing enterprises, the district had completed the energy saving tasks ahead of time, and had saved a total energy saving space of over 7000 tons of standard coals, by the end of 2014. "The elimination of the outdated production capacity has greatly changed the traditional growth pattern with high input, high consumption and high emission, and has led to the coordination between quality and profit, and between economy and society, which is beneficial for the industrial transformation and upgrading and the harmonious development of the society." said a related person from Jiangbei District Development and Reform Bureau.
Meanwhile, the district has worked on the inspection and approval of clean production. Reportedly, 21 enterprises in the district initiated for the clean production inspection, including 10 at the municipal level and 11 at the district level, in three batches, with a total government grant of 979,000 yuan. The clean production inspection of the 11 district enterprises achieved a good rectification effect by promoting the treatment and improvement project of the heavy metal surface pickling industry.
In terms of energy saving, 13 companies (such as Jingda Machine Co. Ltd.) applied for 12 energy saving and emission reduction projects at the district level and four at the municipal level in 2014, with a total investment of 14.13 million yuan and a total energy saving amount of 3162 tons of standard coal, involving such projects as frequency conversion, servo link, energy-saving lamps, stove transformation, organic waste gas treatment and sewage treatment. In the meantime, the district conducted an energy saving assessment and inspection for the fixed assets investment projects of the enterprises with a comprehensive energy consumption of above 1000 tons of standard coal, in line with the requirements of the municipal government. Besides, to control the effective power consumption, the district carried out the energy saving assessment and inspection for the projects with the voltage transformer capacity of or above 315kVA. The projects not up to the requirements were not approved and not accepted upon completion, in order to control the number of new projects in the eight high energy-consumption industries. 47 industrial projects were assessed and inspected at the district level, including 12 projects with the energy consumption of above 1000 tons of standard coal, in 2014.
To strengthen the energy-saving services and help enterprises to reduce energy consumption, Jiangbei District organized experts to conduct energy-saving diagnosis for enterprises and offer advice for their energy administration, transformation and operation.
