Ningbo's transaction of technologies breaks through the 1 billion yuan mark

According to the statistics of the Ministry of Science and Technology, in 2011, Ningbo has registered 1,198 transfers of technologies and the contract value of the transfers reaches 1.0916113 billion yuan, breaking through the 1 billion mark for the first time. Compared with 2010, the number of transfer and the contract value increase by 35.5% and 11.2% respectively.

In the last year, the city exported 1,198, 314 more than in 2010, increased by 35.5%. The contract value mounts to 1.0916113 billion yuan, 109,821,300 yuan more than in 2010, increased by 11.2%.

"This is the first time Ningbo breaks through the 1 billion mark in the transfer of technologies and this indicates that Ningbo has entered a new stage in its scientific and technological creativity," said a related person from Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology

Ningbo Hangzhou Bay New Area to build a cultural and creative production base

Cooperating with a leading cultural company of China, Ningbo is going to build a cultural and creative production base in Ningbo Hangzhou Bay New Area. The other day, Ningbo Hangzhou Bay New Area signed an agreement with Shenzhen Huaqiang Holdings Limited on a cultural creative park project.

According to the framework agreement, the two parties will refer to the urban functional layout and industrial concept of Orlando and build a cultural industrial base that has functionality of cultural creativity, scientific studies and recreation.

The park will be on to the west of Hangzhou Bay Bridge. The construction will start this September. It is planned that the park will capable of receiving at least 6 million visitors every year

About 400 Ningbo companies to attend East China Fair

It is learned on March 22 from a meeting of delegation leaders for East China Fair that the 22nd East China Fair is to open in Shanghai International Exposition Center from March 1 to 5. About 400 companies of foreign trade in Ningbo will attend the fair.

This fair is this year's first largest foreign trade fair in China called one of the "weather cocks" of the foreign trade of household necessities in China for the first half of this year. Reportedly, The 22nd East China Fair will have 10 exhibition halls, one hall more than the last year, wit the area for the exhibition totals 115,000 square meters. There will be four exhibition areas for clothes, textile products, gifts and household necessities. The area for household necessities will have three sections of domestic goods, electric products and other consumer goods. There will be 5,800 exhibition stalls.

According to Ningbo delegation, this year, the Ningbo delegation will rent 483 stalls, increased by 10% over the same period of last year. About 400 companies will go the fair, increased by 30% over last year. In terms of the number of participants to the fair, Ningbo ranks the fourth of all the 14 delegations. Ningbo is one of the major manufacturing bases in East China. This year, Ningbo will use 71% of stall for the display of clothes and household appliances.

East Asia Business Forum to open in Ningbo in February

The 22nd meeting of the East Asia Business Council and the 4th East Asia Business Form is to open in Ningbo from February 29 to March 3. The forum is jointly hosted by CCPIT and Ningbo Municipal Government. The theme of the forum is "New Opportunities for the Cooperation in Business of Ningbo's Private Enterprises with East Asian Countries."

It aims to be a platform for the exchanges of the business people of ASEAN and China, Japan and South Korea on the issues of common interest. At the forum, the trade environment and projects of ASEAN, Japan, South Korea and Zhejiang will be introduced.

The attendants to the forum will be the commercial chambers and delegation of entrepreneurs of the ASEAN countries. It will be a good opportunity for companies of Ningbo to explore the market in ASEAN

Ningbo's GDP breaks through the 100 billion mark for five years

In 2011, Ningbo had its GDP reaching 601.048 billion yuan, increased by 10.0% above the previous year calculated by comparable price. This figure doubles figure (287.44 billion) of 2006. In 2007, Ningbo's GDP broke through 300 billion; in 2009, 400 billion; in 2010, 500 billion. In short, Ningbo's GDP has broken through the 100 billion yuan make for successively four years.

In the past 5 years, the strengthened hard economic power has resulted in the steady growth of the soft power of the city and the significant improvement of people's lives. Ningbo's new high in patents

Statistics from the state authoritative source show that in 2011 Ningbo filed 45,000 patent applications, of which 35,000 were granted, outnumbering the other 14 quasi provincial cities except Shenzhen, however, in the previous year, Ningbo ranked the fourth position.

In 2011, the number of patent applications in Ningbo totaled 47,582, up by 80.2% over the previous year while the number of patent grants amounted to 37,342, up by 43.8% over the previous year, both ranking the first in Zhejiang Province.
