Vietnam: largest source place of rice for Ningbo

The import of rice from Vietnam has overridden that from Thailand and Vietnam became the largest rice exporter in Ningbo, despite the fact that rice from Thailand once accounted for over 90 percent of the total imported volume of the city. 
Statistics shows that Ningbo Entry-exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau accepted 15 times of rice inspection appliances, involving 5,080 tones of rice worth of 2.49 mln dollars till the end of May. Among which 9 times are rice from Vietnam, having 4,400 tones worth of 1.74 mln dollars. These three figures soared by 8 times, 28 times and 24 times respectively and accounted for 60.0 percent, 86.6 percent and 69.9 percent of the total figures respectively.  
The flood last year curtailed the output of rice in Thailand. In addition, the exchange rate and the intervention measures Thailand government adopted made the rice price higher than other exporters, leaving it incompetent with the price of Vietnam rice. Moreover, the rising of China’s price level made Vietnam rice even popular in China. Statistics showed that China had become the largest importer of Vietnam rice, with the export volume rising by 4.4 times and export value 4 times, reported by a Vietnam newspaper.

Cixi Red Bayberry Festival to be held

The press conference for a theatrical performance for the opening ceremony of Cixi Red Bayberry Festival was held in Cixi Platinum Hanjue Hotel on the afternoon of June 13. 
The press conference said that the opening ceremony was scheduled to be held in Cixi Stadium on June 20. Many celebrities such as Leon (Lai Ming), Nicholas Tse (Xie Tingfeng), Han Hong would show up on the gala. E-commerce industrial park built in Cixi

 Cixi e-commerce industrial park, having five online businesses, three logistics, one education and training institution as well as 6 enterprises, was set up in a 5,500 m2 large building in Cixi a couple days ago. It is the first one of its kind in Ningbo.  Given its profound manufacturing experience and sound geographical location, many Cixi-made products such as small household appliances, garments and baby supplies were rather suitable to sell online, said Yu Xuehui, Chairman of Cixi E-business Association. “The set up of the industrial park have many advantages for development. For example, the charge of sending a 9kg package from Cixi to Beijing is 50 yuan, while it can be lowered to 25 yuan if it is negotiated in the name of the industrial park. Another example is that talents needed to conduct e-commerce could be cultivated through Cixi Campus of Taobao University rather than employing with high salary from other places”, added him.

Tenth CHFE to be held in July

Enterprises encouraged to attend China Fair Jordon

News from Ningbo Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau said that Ningbo authority was organizing enterprises to attend China Fair Jordon (2012). China Fair Jordon, well-known as the Canton Fair in Middle East, is highly-supported by Ningbo government.  
“Markets in Middle East countries like Jordon, Iraq, Israel and Saudi Arabia have high paying ability and huge business opportunities in reconstruction market, which has a potential of over one hundred bln dollars. “Ningbo enterprises could take this opportunity to explore overseas markets and build up business relationships with Jordan and other Middle Eastern countries”, said a related person from Ningbo Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau. 
Ningbo Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau will continuously to give full support to the fair of this year and will give rewards to those enterprises that apply to attend the fair. This motive will lower the cost of enterprises to explore international markets especially emerging markets in such Middle Eastern countries as Iraq and Lebanon. The latter market has purchasing power of one hundred bln dollars. 
It is learned that China Fair Jordon has successfully been held for eight sessions, attracting 17,244 experts from 37 Middle Eastern countries and reaching a gross turnover of 131,760,000 dollars. The ninth edition will be held in June and will be divided into two phases. The total exhibiting area will be 24,000 square meters holding 800 booths. It will be the largest edition ever and the largest one in Jordon and its surrounding countries, predominantly attracting visitors from the Middle Eastern counties including Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt, Syria, Israel and Saudi Arabia and so on.

IFA to be held in Sept

News from China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Ningbo Sun-council (CCPIT-Ningbo) said that over 80 manufacturers of consumer electronics and home appliances from Ningbo were scheduled to attend the IFA (2012) in Berlin. It shows that Ningbo enterprises are seeking to go global as the economy has entered into a year of recession. 
The IFA (2012) will be open from 31 August to 5 September. It is the global trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances, presents the latest products and innovations of all the global brands. IFA is also the main meeting place for key retailers, buyers, and experts from the industry and the media. IFA 2011 attracted 238,000 visitors and had a turnover of 30.7 bln Euros, making it the largest exhibition in the world. 
Ningbo, as the most important production base of consumer electronics in China, boasts of a vast sea of manufacturers of electronics in varied sizes and types, including LCD TVs, air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, vacuum cleaners and so on. Some companies have also made world leading achievement in the research and development of new products. As consumer electronics in Ningbo make strides toward intelligence, Ningbo has become a key source of exhibitors for IFA. It is also learned that Ningbo exhibitors will exhibit their latest products.

14 Foreign Trade Incentive Measures Issued

 Recently, 14 foreign trade policies were issued by the municipal government office in Opinions on the Policies to encourage the Steady Growth of Foreign Trade, with an aim to support local enterprises to further expand the international market. The policies covered several aspects including overseas exhibition, export credit insurance, e-commerce marketing and import and export expanding.
According to the Opinion, the government would offer a maximum grant of 30,000 Yuan and 20,000 Yuan respectively for each standard booth among 40 booths of Ningbo-Singapore Import and Export Commodities Fair and 17 booths of Las Vegas International Garment Fair. It would also provide a certain proportion of financial support for the enterprises participating in major foreign-related exhibitions such as China Import and Export Fair (Benin), Zhejiang Export Fair (Indonesia) and China Export Fair (Hungary). All the small and micro-enterprises to be participated in the overseas exhibitions held after June 2012 will get a maximum grant of 10,000 Yuan more for each standard booth.

Central and Western Regions Industry Partnership Symposium Held

The 2012 ZJITS Central and Western Regions Industry Partnership Symposium was held at Nanyuan Hotel on the morning of June 9.
