Sanmen Bay zone attracts strategic emerging industries

On February 17, the last working day before the Spring Festival holiday, Doctor Wang Jiajun led his entrepreneurial team to install the last batch of equipment for the production expansion of the new year at the entrepreneurial basis of the Southern Coastal New Zone (the Sanmen Bay zone). Just like Doctor Wang, so far, seven doctor teams have settled down at the zone, and four doctor teams are at the stage of negotiation for settlement.
"The teams have brought with them medical devices, aeronautical and space technologies, new materials and new energy projects." said a person in charge of business attraction at the zone. One of the seven teams, the project of "4D breast resistant CT of the early diagnosis of cell level cancer", is led by Doctor Wang Wei. With seven of the nine team members being doctors, they are devoted to the design, research and development, and production. With the features of high cost performance, no wounds, no radiation, high speed and high sensitivity, the project will soon be put into operation. The CRIGA project led by Doctor Chen Rongyi, Aviation Expert from the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs and Director of the Institute of General Aviation of Zhejiang Digital Content Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, has entered the stage of research and development. The 3D printing material production project led by Doctor Wang Jiajun has started trial production. The four projects under negotiation are involved in the international frontier technological industries.
The entrepreneurial teams are attracted to the Sanmen Bay zone for the promising prospects of the zone. With the rich land resources and port resources, the zone has an obvious geographical advantage. Since July 2014, the Sanmen Bay zone has been entitled the "Southern Coastal New Zone" and has become a major development zone for Ningbo.
To attract more emerging industries, the new zone has been providing "nanny" services for coming enterprises. From the beginning of the project introduction, special personnel will be responsible for providing special services and solving problems so that the enterprises can settle down and carry out research and development business. The zone will also provide such following-up innovative services as achievement conversion, investment and finance, and market development. These are the reasons for the zone's appealing to so many doctor teams.
So far, with the settlement of such major public service platforms as the Ningbo Bio-medical Industrial Park, Ninghai Industrial Park of Ningbo 1000-people Plan, and Geely Micro Electric Vehicle Project, the virtuous cycle of platforms attracting talents, talents leading projects, and projects promoting development has gradually taking shape at the new zone.
