Tourism festival to boost the night travelling market

Ningbo Tourism Festival 2014, jointly held by Ningbo Municipal Government and Zhejiang Tourism Bureau, will place emphasis on the development of night tourism. The night sightseeing activities in various scenic spots have attracted many people.

According to the statistics of Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Tourism, during the tourism festival of 2014, 112 tourism enterprises in Ningbo participated in the "moonlight economy" activities, receiving altogether 2 million people and producing tourism consumption 250 million yuan.

 

After attending several night travelling in Ningbo, a couple of young man decided to have their wedding in the seafood festival held in Baisha Jiangbei District. Under the silver moonlight and with the cool wind by the river, they had a carnival night with guests.

The charm of Ningbo' night is more than this. Take Dongqian Lake for example, since the water lantern festival in September, it has attracted more than 85 thousand people.

It is learned that during the tourism festival in 2014, there have been more than 30 festivals held by the society which highlights "Moonlight Economy". Songlanshan Holiday Resort held campfire parties, built special sightseeing platforms, set up open cinema and prepared motor home camping. Star hotels also joined the festival.  Howard Johnson launched a night show "Grand Voyage"; Crown plaza had open barbecue; Westin launched roof bar; Kaiyuan Hotel held square Siu Ye; other hotels had 24 hour coffee bars.

Travel Ningbo at night will become regular.

For Ningbo's tourism industry, they have been trying to let the tourists stay. It will be a pity if the night tourism in the tourism festival this year is a just flash. For this, many people call for the regularization of travelling in Ningbo at night.  

It is learned that in order to cultivate the new economic growth engine and to meet the night consumption demands of citizens and tourists, the night travelling routes launched by the tourism departments and travel agencies are on the rise. For instance, China Lake Festival in 2014 launched "Dongqian Lake under the Moonlight" for the first time. Recently, a new series of night travelling activities which highlights water, like Dongqian Lake Halloween, will be held one after another.

To boost the moonlight economy, Ningbo has made a long-term development plan "The Instructions of Ningbo Municipal Government on Developing Moonlight Economy", which proposes that by 2017, there will be 25 night market streets with special features, and the retailing sale will amount to 15 billion yuan; by 2020, the streets will be more than 50 and retail sale will reach over 30 billion yuan.
