Ningbo Robots aims at bigger market

On July 15, the 2nd China Robot Summit was held in Cixi. On the plenary session of Robot Festival, a sorting machine caught the attention of many traditional manufacturers. According to the head of the Flexsys Robot, “An automatic sorting machine just cost about over 100 thousand yuan, the same as the total salary of three workers. Its service life is about 6 years. The efficiency was greatly enhanced. But the cost dropped.”
At the summit, equipment manufacturers from Cixi presented their robots’ working video on the big screen: moving, stacking, packing and painting. Bosses from traditional manufacturing industries like auto parts, bearing, purifiers and moulds were so amazed by the robots that many of them offered their olive branch.
In Cixi, the robot industry, which is hailed as the pearl on the top of manufacturing industry crown, with high added value, has become a favorite of investment. So far, about 30 equipment manufacturing enterprises have been involved in the industry. In 2012, the annual output reached about 3 billion yuan. The industrial chain includes both whole robot production and key parts manufacturing like robot hands and speed reducers. As the leader of robot industry in Cixi, Jiang Chen Automation Equipment Co., Ltd produced about 60 million yuan in 2014. Its sales in the past three years doubled annually. Its manufacturing outsourcing model has also driven over 20 supporting service enterprises to develop. In the emerging industry cluster area, leading enterprises are closely working together to build a database of production, study, research, application and capital and cultivate an integrated industrial chain of R&D, production, assembling, sale, and supporting service.
Robot is a new tool for the upgrading of traditional manufacturing industries like bearing, textile and mould. Bearing giant Cixing Group will focus on speed reducer, a key part of robot.
