The 22nd East China Fair opened today in Shanghai New International Exposition Center. The exhibition area of the fair reaches 115,000 square meters and it is participated by 14 delegations of 3,420 enterprises. There are four exhibition areas for clothes, textile products, gifts and household necessities. Of the 5,800 exhibition stalls the Ningbo delegation occupies 483 exhibition stalls, increased by 10% over the same period of last year. Ningbo has about 400 enterprises in the fair.
"At present, the situation for foreign trade is good and bad, with both opportunities and challenges," said Ding Haibin, head of the Ningbo delegation for the fair. Despite the great impact of the European debt crisis and the appreciation of the yuan, in the last year, Ningbo's export to the emerging markets in Russia, Brazil, USA and South Africa had a great increase, making up the loss in the traditional markets. On the other hand, Thanks to the rigid demands, Ningbo maintained a steady growth in the export of textile products, clothes and household necessities. "Our products for the fair are mainly textile products, clothes and household necessities, which are the main part of the foreign trade of Ningbo. The East China Fair is a great opportunity for Ningbo. We hope to have many orders."
